X-Men Star Inde Navarrette Rumored To Debut As Rogue In This Upcoming MCU Movie - Spoilers

Obsession star Inde Navarrette will play Rogue in Marvel Studios' X-Men, but a new rumour claims the actress will debut as the MCU's Anna Marie before the reboot hits theaters in 2028.

At D23, Marvel Studios announced that Jake Schreier's untitled X-Men movie will star Kit Connor as Scott Summers, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver, meanwhile, will play Nathaniel Milbury, a.k.a. Mister Sinister.

Navarrette, already known to comic book fans as Superman & Lois' Sarah Cortez, delivered a star-making turn in 2026's breakout horror hit Obsession earlier this year. The news that she would play Rogue came as a surprise, but also received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Now, The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider is reporting that Navarrette will make her MCU debut as Rogue in 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. This comes after reports that Sadie Sink will appear in the movie as Jean Grey.

It makes sense for the MCU's new X-Men to debut in a movie that will likely break box office records and rank among Marvel Studios' biggest blockbusters. Whether they'll have a role in the story or will appear right at the very end to set up their movie—which releases five months later on May 5, 2028—is a mystery for now.

Elsewhere on the podcast, it was mentioned that Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny is still being eyed for a role in X-Men that would expand in future movies. The implication seems to be that she'll be a member of the team, though some fans have suggested she could portray a character like Moira MacTaggert. We'll have to wait and see.

Plus, following false claims that Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), and Matt Smith (Morbius) are in the mix for Magneto, Sneider says he's heard nothing about the Master of Magnetism being cast in X-Men. However, The Social Reckoning's Jeremy Strong was a name he heard some time ago.

A new piece of fan art, meanwhile, reveals what Navarrette could look like as Rogue.

The confirmed (or semi-confirmed, at least) cast of Avengers: Secret Wars includes Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).

Also appearing are Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), and Sadie Sink (Jean Grey).

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.

The [frick]ing Emm She Ewe is all sorts of jacked up.

Isn't the point of Secret Wars to reboot the whole franchise or something?

So mutants already exist in the current timeline then.

Hopefully they burn out the X-Men before they even start the next saga
