X-Men Star Inde Navarrette Rumored To Debut As Rogue In This Upcoming MCU Movie - Spoilers

Obsession star Inde Navarrette will play Rogue in Marvel Studios' X-Men, but a new rumour claims the actress will debut as the MCU's Anna Marie before the reboot hits theaters in 2028.

At D23, Marvel Studios announced that Jake Schreier's untitled X-Men movie will star Kit Connor as Scott Summers, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver, meanwhile, will play Nathaniel Milbury, a.k.a. Mister Sinister.

Navarrette, already known to comic book fans as Superman & Lois' Sarah Cortez, delivered a star-making turn in 2026's breakout horror hit Obsession earlier this year. The news that she would play Rogue came as a surprise, but also received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Now, The Hot Mic's Jeff Sneider is reporting that Navarrette will make her MCU debut as Rogue in 2027's Avengers: Secret Wars. This comes after reports that Sadie Sink will appear in the movie as Jean Grey.

It makes sense for the MCU's new X-Men to debut in a movie that will likely break box office records and rank among Marvel Studios' biggest blockbusters. Whether they'll have a role in the story or will appear right at the very end to set up their movie—which releases five months later on May 5, 2028—is a mystery for now.

Elsewhere on the podcast, it was mentioned that Alien: Romulus star Cailee Spaeny is still being eyed for a role in X-Men that would expand in future movies. The implication seems to be that she'll be a member of the team, though some fans have suggested she could portray a character like Moira MacTaggert. We'll have to wait and see.

Plus, following false claims that Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy), Henry Cavill (Man of Steel), and Matt Smith (Morbius) are in the mix for Magneto, Sneider says he's heard nothing about the Master of Magnetism being cast in X-Men. However, The Social Reckoning's Jeremy Strong was a name he heard some time ago.

A new piece of fan art, meanwhile, reveals what Navarrette could look like as Rogue.

The confirmed (or semi-confirmed, at least) cast of Avengers: Secret Wars includes Robert Downey Jr. (Doctor Doom), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Paul Bettany (The Vision), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter).

Also appearing are Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), and Sadie Sink (Jean Grey).

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness's Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars scheduled to arrive on December 17, 2027.

The [frick]ing Emm She Ewe is all sorts of jacked up.

Isn't the point of Secret Wars to reboot the whole franchise or something?

So mutants already exist in the current timeline then.

Hopefully they burn out the X-Men before they even start the next saga

Or where in the world a person was born. By luck of the draw he could have been born in a Latino country himself. Like I said, he's simple. Not an advanced thought in his head to be found

@Pathogen - Rogue isn't Hispanic but Indie is hot AF, so she can stay.

Hotness doesn't see color. Hopefully, they don't have her speaking Mexican though.

@Pathogen - If you called an actual Argentine Hispanic they would kill themselves. The country's like 80% Nazis in hiding and 20% Italians that begrudgingly speak Spanish.

@BestAtWhatIDo - I wasn't calling her hispanic, that was @batmangina Argentines consider themselves the Europeans of S. America, and are snobby as hell about it. I've been to S America often. Plus there is a difference between hispanic and latino and spanish

@Pathogen - There’s absolutely nothing wrong with wanting and having the expectation that the character will look like they do in the page.

She’s very pretty but she doesn’t look like the character as written. No one would care if she played a different character that she looks more like. Hopefully, they at least give her the right hair and outfit.
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/22/2026, 9:35 AM
@Bucky74 - I'll readily admit, I was a big hater of race swapping just to do it. Moreso in the books when they started doing it to characters. I'm a big fan of writing a great character or part that is a minority, etc, over just shoehorning.
So I get it.
And for Rogue, that southern twang is iconic..you can't change that. Anna Paquin was the right skinn color, and she sucked donkey ballz as Rogue. So its not all about the color all the time. Just pick the right person for the job.

That being said, if race wasn't central to the character's identity, then to me its fine. Wonderman, for instance..I don't know jack about the character but if beingn white wasn't really a major thing for him, then who cares...they got a great actor to play him, thats good enough for me.

Bucky74 - 8/22/2026, 9:56 AM
@Pathogen - I get that take, but I definitely want the look to match. We’ll see what she looks like when all done up as the character. Hopefully they keep her Southern roots too. I want to hear her say “Sugah”

You're constantly spewing bigot messages all over the place, then acting offended when someone exhibits the same behavior you do. Hate to break it to you, Mr. Hypocrite, but you don't have a VIP pass to indulge in the exact same nonsense. The hypocrisy is spectacular. @Ryguy88 - Yeah? So Cyclops, one of my fav characters..he HAS to be white? Where in his history has race been a factor or a determination of his personality/characterization?

For me, all I want for Cyke is to be played by an actor who has that leadership charisma that people are drawn to, that quiet take charge attitude, someone who can handle the drama of a boyscout who plays by the rules, has the morality, the stength of character, but also the depth of loss and anguish for some of the storylines he's been presented with. And I guess lately to see how far down the moral gray road someone will go to protect the ones he loves, etc
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 8/24/2026, 1:01 PM
@Pathogen - he has been depicted as white for his entire history in the comics. What is the reason for changing how he looks?

Why is Blade off limits but not Cyclops?
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/24/2026, 1:40 PM
@Ryguy88 - Because there have been contributions to Blade's characterization over the years, plus he is the epitome of the clash between the stereotypical old world, rich vamps like Dracula, etc..and the new, urban upstart. He doesn't belong in either world, human or vamp, in part because of this.
Also, his clothing and mannerisms harkens back to 70's Blacksploitation films and characters. With Cyke, his race isn't quite as important.
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 8/25/2026, 9:24 AM
@Pathogen - all of that could be attributed to a white guy, except for the blacksploitation part, which is mostly you just adding in and not a core part of hsi character.

If you really believe your take, please name 1 prominent super hero who is black that you wouldnt mind being race swapped with a white actor.
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/25/2026, 9:52 AM
@Ryguy88 - Wonderman, is one.

And yeah, the blacksploitation did become core. He always had the urban mannerisms, was created as the writer's idea of the opposite of the old, white, rich vampires. But hey, ignoring all that is cool too I guess?
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 8/25/2026, 10:44 PM
@Pathogen - wonderman was white...

The exercise is to prove that it can work both ways.
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/26/2026, 11:27 AM
@Ryguy88 - Thats what you asked. What white character wouldn't I mind a race swap.

So..lets see it. What about Wonderman needed to be white?
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 8/26/2026, 10:39 PM
@Pathogen - read it again: "name 1 prominent super hero who is black that you wouldnt mind being race swapped with a white actor."
Pathogen
Pathogen - 8/26/2026, 11:00 PM
@Ryguy88 - Ah, gotcha. Cyborg comes to mind. I'll admit I don't know too much about him, but from what I do know, its a pretty generic background culturally speaking. So...booya. :)
War Machine, probably another. Bishop, too. Are those prominent enough?
