The second part of the conference had a question and answer session from the audience. I asked them a question about why they (SPOILER for X2) decided to reveal the Phoenix in X2. Isn't the Phoenix saga a really risky story for them to begin, because it involved this whole intergalactic thing that had aliens and all kinds of stuff outside the realm of Earth? I mentioned how the producers, and Bryan, have expressed that they feel X-men can be a series of movies, maybe like James Bond. If they are planning of multiple X-Movies, why bust out the Phoenix saga on the second film, as opposed to other X-stories that don't go beyond Earth? Bryan gave me an answer that not only answered my question, but gave us insite to the possible (I bet money) story of X3!

He explained that the Phoenix story was used because he wasn't going to make it like "I'm coming to take over the world." Pretty much saying that Jean has now evolved futher. Gave the impression that its the next NEXT step of her evolution. Thats why she's talking about, "evolution leaping forward" at the end. Micheal Dougherty said that its more about, "Unlimited power, and what do you do with all that power". I think they're gonna deal with her and her powers in relationship to everyone else. So I guess it does sound like they're going to skip "regular" Phoenix, like the Craig Kilborn scooper thought. Can't wait for X3 already!
