Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

47 RONIN was directed by Carl Rinsch, from a screenplay written by Chris Morgan and Hossein Amini. The cast includes: Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, Rinko Kikuchi and Ko Shibasaki. The film will be released on December 25, 2013. Merry Christmas, dude!

This is what bums me on this site, I like marvel as much as the next guy, but this article is about a crappy movie unrelated to anything Marvel, but thanks for keeping the hype machine going.

Really great up and coming director. Which I hope because of this movie won't change that. Sadly the mess of the movie fell on both Carl Rinsch and Universal. I remember Carl Rinsch talking about what he wanted to do for the movie. It was a completely different story compared to the one we got. The script was changed, production and post production was also changed. Because Universal wanted more control.

This kind of stuff sadly happens a lot in the industry. The same thing happened to the movie Robocop. The director originally was making a R rated film not PG-13. But the execs pulled the rug from under him too. So what you get instead is a movie with way to many cooks in the kitchen.

Look I'm not trying to make it sound like Universal is the bad guy. They have every right to have a say in the film. They payed for it after all and just want to see a return on their investment.

I just would like to see execs standing by the people they hired more often. They saw something in them in the beginning after all.

Like I said earlier the movie also falls on Carl. This was his first big movie. So maybe he just wasn't able to finish the task as much as he thought he would. He never managed a 100 million plus movie before. So it could have just been to big of a mountain to climb. So maybe he needed help on the film. So because of that it gave off negative vibes and indirectly messed with the movie.

Now I know it will then come as a shock to you but I would like to see him given another shot at a big film. Because now he will be better prepared for what's to come. So he will be able to take on the task and excel.

I personally would like to see him make a Green Lantern Corps movie. I even listed the reasons on this very site not that long ago.

I enjoyed this movie. Probably very hard for people to get into if they have no knowledge of Japanese culture and history.

I feel bad for everyone who didnt enjoy this.

Hmmmmm.......I have seen just about every iteration of the story about the 47 Ronin. I'm very familiar with the customs associated with the era and have spent a lot of time in Japan. Having said this, @KeefNCookies, would you recommend this film?
