A Few Words From The Cast Of The New James Bond Flick: Skyfall

After the official announcement of Skyfall at a press conference earlier in the week we now have a select few sound bites from the cast themselves before they headed off to start work on the new movie. Hit the jump to see the video...

Given the reaction on the site this week around the official announcement and the leaked set pictures I though this was worth sharing.

Hear short sound bites from key cast members including Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem and very briefly from Judi Dench.

In SKYFALL, Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

I haven't seen a Bond movie with Craig playing him. I've only seen the classics. I guess ill give Casino Royale a try and see if I like him or not.

@BooYah - they are good. Quantum didn't merit a DVD purchase in my opinion though.

@CBMfanx1 - glad you popped by!

Give QoS a break, it was enjoyable at least. Seemed like a better remake of License to Kill with elements of OHMSS mixed in. Watch it for what it's worth, without the pretentious "this isn't what Bond is about!" indignation.

This video kind of reeks though. Bad bad editing.

Craig is good. He's not perfect, but he definitely exudes a modern-day Bond. Understand that each actor has played that archetype from each generation/decade, reflecting each period's ideal image of a suave, intelligent, and self-confident action hero.

Connery did it best, but that's just that.

@Tainted87 - It's a press issue video. That's it in its basic form, they are provided to be edited into things like MTV news bulletins etc.

Craig has proven to be an excellent Bond. I love how human they Bond in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. Craig is the reason why I started watching Bond movies. I haven't a Bond movie since the Roger Moore and Sean Connery era.

love james bond, i think Craig is fantastic and Quantum gets a bad rap because Casino was SO outstanding (tied for best in series with Goldfinger)....very much looking forward to this.

Craig is great but i love Connery´s Bond too thou. His movies are just classics. Sean has the best fight scenes in Bond history. From Russia With Love (Bond vs. Red Grant) and Goldfinger (Bond vs. Oddjob) are still my favorite Bond fight scenes.

I hope Craig makes few Bond´s more after this one. Then i say they should leave Bond alone and focus on Simon Templar aka The Saint or Modesty Blaise and make them fresh again.

Fecking loved Qos, why?

Because it doesn't call into the same nostalgic boredom trap that brosnans films ended up. I like the rawness, the characters essentially a class a b#stard so why make home all fluffy and pretty,

I hope they extend Daniel Craig's contract a bit longer; I think after after this movie he's got one more under his contract.

They need to start building James Bond movies around the actor's schedules instead of just trying to rush them out the door. If they did that, maybe we would have gotten Sean Connery as Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, instead of George Lazenby.

Javier Bardem will be a great Bond villain. Berenice Marlohe is beautiful and seems like a lovely girl. I'm still confused about Naoime Harris's role because I thought she was cast as Moneypenny? But apparently she isn't? Unless they're making Moneypenny a field operative.

@mgeoff88
Connery dropped out after You Only Live Twice because he had family problems, and making Bond movies was getting to be his life. 62 - Dr No, 63 - From Russia With Love, 64 - Goldfinger, 65 - Thunderball, 67 - You Only Live Twice.... back then, it was unprecedented.

@Tainted Oh,I knew about him getting tired of playing James Bond, even though he came back twice for Diamonds are Forever and Never Say Never Again. But I didn't know about him having family problems.

Also, for some reason, I was thinking OHMSS was one of the much earlier Bond films.

@Tainted87 I didn't dislike QOS because it wasn't what I expected from a Bond movie. I applauded Casino because it did take Bond to a new, edgier place. I dislike QOS because there was no pacing, no story, the actions scenes were poorly shot and the editing was abysmal. I won't even go into the title sequence and title song. Thank God for Sam Mendes. I feel much better seeing Roger Deakins attached to oversee the cinematography. Like AlexDeLarge87 I like Sean Connery best. He oozed sex appeal and moved like a panther. As for Craig, I like him, but don't confuse the quality of his Bond with the quality of Casino Royale. I suspect if he had appeared in a View To a Kill, most would hate him. And for God's sake, can everyone stop lamenting the loss of Moneypenny and Q?!!

I Sean Connery & Roger Moore & Daniel Craig but never George Lazenby Timothy Dalton or Pierce Brosnan. In some of the James Bond web I seen mini comic of James Bond in Action. The all of with Sean Connery figure.
