A remake of the classic 1959 film Ben-Hur is on the way from MGM and it seems a director has been chosen! Reported by Deadline.com
WANTED and
ABRAHAM LINCOLN:VAMPIRE HUNTER director Timur Bekmambetov is now in talks to direct the remake for MGM. It is said in quote
"The new adaptation will be more faithful to the book while taking elements from the original William Wyler directed film."
It seems Timur Bekmambetov has some giant footsteps to follow as not only the 1959 version of the classic tale Ben-Hur but also adapted as in a 1925 silent film. Who knows if negotiations will go but time will tell.
