bigshow2312: I was sold after I saw him in Batman Begins- he could play the mad and vice target in a movie. Now of course in the film Tom couldn’t play an in the flesh black African guy, but he could still be the African dictator. Maybe a European tyrant?
dmb1511: I’m sick of seeing Michael casted as the token black guy... A lot of the times people only think actors suck because of what is written for them to perform. These actors can get better only if we allow them too, without casting them as the same character with a different story.
bigshow2312: Charles was chosen mainly because he is a fantastic thespian. We’ve been seeing him in a lot of films and its sad that he hasn’t had a chance to truly manifest his skills.
bigshow2312: YES! He immediately was the choice when I first re-watched the Bourne film. He’s just like Charles Dutton, a implausible performer that hasn’t had the chance to show his acting abilities, but his FlashFoward show has kept him in the game.
dmb1511: Malinda is one of those independent female actors that knows how to handle her own in a film. This is probably why my brother cast her. She isn’t the type of woman that needs a guy to cling on to in a movie.
bigshow2312: I knew she was the famous Quincy Jones’s daughter, but I didn’t realize she was a well formed actress. I recently saw her in The Social Network and got a chance to catch her in a few episodes of The Office, but I have to say, she may be the next great Black actress in Hollywood. Considering that she’s been in a lot of raunchy comedies lately, which means that someone approves of her work! The character that she would play in the Bourne film has a foreign accent, which shouldn’t be problematic for her.
dmb1511: I am going to start off saying that I am not a big fan of Cuba Gooding Jr., but you will never here me say he can’t act. Jason Bourne is one of those characters you have to think outside the box for. I agree with my brother on this because Damon is one of those weird actors, and Cuba can pull of weird.
bigshow2312: I think this would work, considering that Cuba has a certain masculine caliber that matches to Matt Damon’s portrayal. Does anyone know when he’ll be out of the straight-to-DVD prison?
