Entertainment Weekly has shared the first official trailer for the Russo Brothers' Avengers: Endgame follow-up, Cherry; a crime drama that's already been generating quite a bit of Oscar buzz weeks before its theatrical debut next month.

The film is a true story, based on the book of the same name, and stars fan-favorite Tom Holland (Avengers: EndgameSpider-Man 3) in the lead role as Nico Walker, a former Army medic with PTSD who becomes addicted to opioids and starts robbing banks to pay for the addiction. Cherry follows Walker through his mental health deterioration as he slowly transforms from college student to boyfriend to soldier to a drug addict, and finally, to bank robber.

In addition to Holland, the cast will feature Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli, Jeff Wahlberg, Forrest Goodluck, Michael Goodluck, Michael Gandolfini, Kyle Harvey, Pooch Hall, Thomas Lennon, Kelli Berglund, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Nicole Forester, Jamie Brewer, Fionn O'Shea, and Adam Long.

In an epic odyssey of romance, war, drug addiction, and crime, a young man (Tom Holland) struggles to find his place in the world. Directed by the Russo Brothers. In theaters on February 26 and exclusively on Apple TV+ March 12.

@manofillintent1 - Same here. I keep finding myself bored by nearly every Apple series.

For as great as an actor Tom Holland is, all I hear is Peter Parker having a bad day lol. Interesting trailer tho, I guess

Looks like a movie trying to be an oscar contender, rather than a movie that is an oscar contender.

@DannRamm113 - Got the same feeling from some of the shots. But I'm curious, nonetheless, I'll watch it when it comes out.

I’m down. Definitely less grounded than I imagined it would be but I kinda dig the saved by the bell / Deadpool talking to the camera trippy vibe it has

Seems Holland caught the “movies with narration” bug.

I'll give it a watch. Looks to be a showcase of Holland's acting range.

Not really a big fan of the edgy, angst-filled cover of "Time in a Bottle", should've just used the original.

Also, not a big fan of when the narrator talks directly into the camera to the audience, always comes off as hokey even in good movies like Fight Club and Goodfellas. Feels like I'm watching Malcolm in the Middle.

Skimmed the trailer but I'm here for Holland getting to stretch his legs and the Russos just going crazy. No sense in doing 2 of the biggest films ever and then playing it safe when you get to do something small

Tom Holland here looks more like a nerdy Peter Parker from the comics than he does in his Spiderman movies lol

It looks interesting, it just sucks it's apart of Appletv. I wonder if they're still offering free trials

Y'all crazy, watch I bet the same people who aren't "interested" now, will be the same guys praising it when it comes out. Russo's have always known what they are doing when it comes to entertainment.
