Entertainment Weekly has shared the first official trailer for the Russo Brothers' Avengers: Endgame follow-up, Cherry; a crime drama that's already been generating quite a bit of Oscar buzz weeks before its theatrical debut next month.
The film is a true story, based on the book of the same name, and stars fan-favorite Tom Holland (Avengers: Endgame; Spider-Man 3) in the lead role as Nico Walker, a former Army medic with PTSD who becomes addicted to opioids and starts robbing banks to pay for the addiction. Cherry follows Walker through his mental health deterioration as he slowly transforms from college student to boyfriend to soldier to a drug addict, and finally, to bank robber.
In addition to Holland, the cast will feature Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli, Jeff Wahlberg, Forrest Goodluck, Michael Goodluck, Michael Gandolfini, Kyle Harvey, Pooch Hall, Thomas Lennon, Kelli Berglund, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Nicole Forester, Jamie Brewer, Fionn O'Shea, and Adam Long.
In an epic odyssey of romance, war, drug addiction, and crime, a young man (Tom Holland) struggles to find his place in the world. Directed by the Russo Brothers. In theaters on February 26 and exclusively on Apple TV+ March 12.
