While
Casino Royale was met with almost unanimous praise from fans and critics alike,
Quantum of Solace didn't fare quite so well despite being the highest grossing movie of the franchise. Perhaps that's why Daniel Craig is now determined that
Skyfall will be the "perfect" film, and in a recent interview with GQ (via
MTV) he talked about getting the next instalment just right.
"There’s a perfect Bond movie out there. And I’m going to find it if it kills me. Which it might. I have to be that way about it. The script that we have at the moment, and this is not just actor hyperbole, I’m genuinely excited about it, " he said.
"There’s a really good hook. In fact, we now have two or three really good hooks, two might work and that’s what you want. That’s what we had in Casino."
Fans of the Ian Fleming novels will be pleased to hear that Craig believes staying faithful to their tone and direction will help guarantee success in the latest 007 adventure this time directed by Sam Mendes.
"Ultimately because it’s based on source material, the book had those hooks. We’ve got those in this script and as long as we hit those, the rest of it is hopefully going to come together." Filming is currently ongoing and
Skyfall will be released worldwide from October 2012.
