Former 007 Pierce Brosnan Backs THOR's Idris Elba & ARROW's Colin Salmon For Bond
Fan-favorite Idris Elba (Thor: The Dark World) may have just received his biggest endorsement yet for the role of 007 - from a former Bond, no less. In a recent interview, Pierce Brosnan gave his thoughts on who should replace Daniel Craig. Check out what he had to say!
Despite claiming not to have given much thought to the identity of Daniel Craig's future replacement as Bond, former 007 Pierce Brosnan did have a few choice words to say about Idris Elba's candidacy. "Yeah he would actually," he told the Radio Times, when asked whether the Thor actor would make a good Bond - before going on to add: "Colin Salmon also. May the best man get the job and may Daniel bring home the bacon for as long as he wants."
There has been a lot of debate regarding Elba and the potential of seeing a new 007 after Daniel Craig's time is up. It appears Brosnan is a fan of the actor, who was voted in as the frontrunner for the role amongst US fans in a YouGov poll back in December. Perhaps more interesting is Brosnan's nod to his former The World Is Not Enough co-star, Colin Salmon - who had a recurring role on The CW's Arrow. Having already played a bit-part role in Brosnan's Bond films as MI6 agent 'Charles Robinson' though, it's unlikely we'll get to see Salmon take the big job.
For now, it's unlikely we'll hear anything new on the subject, given that Daniel Craig still has one more movie to film even after Spectre hits cinemas this November. Are you an Elba supporter, or would you prefer to see a dark horse like Salmon get the gig? As usual, let us know down below!
