GoldenEye for Wii Trailer

At E3, Nintendo has released the trailer for the revamped version of the classic GoldenEye game. Not surprisingly, they've changed Bond from Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig (whose avatar is only seen briefly).

This game was and still is a legend. Hope it stays that way...Can't even begin to tell you how many hours I spent trying to clear the Facility in less than 2:05...haha

Um... why? I really don't get the purpose of this. Of course they wanna capitalise but you know what i mean. It's like remaking the SNES Batman Returns game with better graphics but switching to Bale. What's the point? And aren't they switching actors for the next Bond? Didn't i read that somewhere? If so... why would they put Craig in a chapter he's never been in if he won't even be the next bond??? Wow this really makes no sense what so ever.

@Shaman Good Idea on Rebooting "Batman Returns" for SNES...nothing better than a couple of smoke bombs against Catwoman and her whip...haha. That game was sweet too...haha

cool!! but i would've prefered the pierce brosnan look for this game

I'm thinking that the switch to Craig has to do with licensing. They likely don't have the rights to Brosnan's likeness or he wanted too much money. You never really see yourself anyway so doesn't really matter what ya look like. Plus it didn't even look like Brosnan the first time around.

Besides which, I think if they're going to push Bond, they'll push the current actor playing the part as opposed to his predecessor.

Shaman: I read that they were switching directors but I haven't seen anything about Craig being replaced.

I love Goldeneye, and nice to see and upgrade of it, but that's all it is. I bought Earthworm Jim HD for the 360 a few nights back, it looks gorgeous, also only cost $8. This is going to be a full priced game for new graphics, that even though I love the Wii (and own one) the graphics still horribly suck. Nintendo f^cked up with this console.

continuezero- Good points, all of them :)

Hawksblueyes- I swear i read they were going younger... or thinking about it for the next film... not sure anymore ;P

Stumblin- Earthworm Jim is one of the greatest games ever made! It's right up there with Boogerman and Maui Mallard :)) Then they 3Ded everything to shit :(

EdGross- Well that's logical... if he gets to stay the current bond that is ;)

@ Shaman, Thanks!

I just hope that they keep the same little quirks in the game. Like being able to strafe at angles and kinda run faster...but hopefully they fix things like the "Fog"...pull out your Sniper Rifle and even though you could pick the guy off, the fog was too much to get a clear shot. Also I hope you can kill guys like that one dude in the Silo with the briefcase that tries to run from you...I managed to chase that guy down a million times and drop rounds on him to the head and nothing....that was always kinda stupid.

continuezero- Well i've played the game for about two minutes. Enough to know it wasn't for me. I'm really not a fan of shooters. I would have enjoyed it far more if it had been a 3rd person action game. So i sure hope they do fix those mistakes for ya ;)

shaman@ they are not switching actors. have no plans too. the movie is in limbo due to mgm money problems but craig is definately still bond.

as for the game i loved the old one as well. i have never played a shooter game on my wii so that will be interesting.

@Keven Agreed that Perfect Dark was a better game, although I thought the Goldeneye Multi Player was more fun. I found the speed and the flow of the Perfect Dark Multiplayer was too fast, didn't have the right frame rate/refresh rate...(whatever the proper terminology is).

@Shaman..You did not play more than 2 minutes of Goldeneye? I must say that you definitely missed out. I hear what you're sayin about 1st person shooters, but this game was something else. Years ahead of it's time...

If Wii wants to redo a classic game how about expand Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Goldeneye was a great game, but not even the "best multiplayer/first person shooter" can beat the "best RPG".

Perfect Dark was not better Goldeneye was a classic and Perfect Dark ripped it off. That gun where you could see and shoot through walls? LAME

@BmanHall Yes Mario RPG was definitely a classic. That needs to be Re-Done and you're right, not in the Paper Mario Garbage way. Problem is Square and Nintendo did a Joint Venture there I'm pretty sure and I don't know if they would do that again. But that game was one of the best of all time.

IT's sad the best that the Wii can hope for is a rehashed shooter. It's quite pathetic considering all the top quality new shooters for Xbox and PS3. Let's hope Nintendo doesn't keep pumping out under powered systems in the future.

@venkman9993592, Yeah. So sad that the Wii can only get the highest rated game of the generation(and possibly possibly all time).

You guys seen that Metal Gear Solid demo for the 3DS? That thing has better graphics than the Wii. Looked on par with PS2.

PS2 graphics> Wii graphics? Quite ridiculous.

But, yeah. The power of the 3DS is impressive. In terms of graphics, it seems to have a slight edge over the PSP.
