Director Sam Mendes will pay homage to the Indiana Jones rope bridge battles. 007 will have it out with a villain on a rickety affair like in Temple Of Doom. - The Sun
Well The Sun isn't exactly the New York Times, but even a broken clock is right twice a day, so you never know. They don't even report that this information came from a quote or a source, they just state it as fact so I'm not sure what to tell you.
As for the possible scene being remade, I would be extremely happy to see Sam Mendes do his own version. It was the highlight of the
Temple of Doom, which was the second
Indy film in the franchise, and to many is the third best of the four.
A fun fact about the bridge used in the
Temple of Doom is that the bridge actually was suspended a couple hundred feet off the ground. This caused a problem for the director Steven Speilberg who suffers from a fear of heights. He would never walk on the bridge, and when he needed to film scenes on the other side of the bridge he would drive out of the way in order to get to the other side. However, Harrison Ford enjoyed it, and would run up and down the bridge during takes.
Skyfall, Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, as well as a Judi Dench as M.
