The website mi6-hq.com has come across some interesting information, as it appears as though Sam Mendes has turned the Ascot Racecourse's new state of the art grandstand into the Shanghai International Airport. As you can see with the image to the right, Shanghai signage has been added to the location. The scenes were filmed at night according to the site's source to keep the racetrack out of the shots, and over 300 Chinese extras were used to create authenticity.

Also of note, mi6-hq.com is reporting that a large amount of VW Beetles have been scooped up for the film. It is expected that they'll be damaged for a stunt and production will need replacements.

In an odd piece of news, rumorfix.com is reporting that there is something special going on with Daniel Craig's watch for the film. If that has any significance I'm not sure, you decide.
As Bond, James Bond, Daniel Craig has to have the latest gadgets and look immaculate. That’s why a watchmaker was flown in from Switzerland to the set to match the face of Bond’s watch with Daniel’s blue eyes. Then a few days later, the designer was flown back again to take out a few pieces inside the timepiece to make it a few ounces lighter.

Skyfall, Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, as well as a Judi Dench as M.

I was going to joke about how an Omega watch - even though they are heavy as hell - shouldn't be too much for James Bond's manly wrist, but I got distracted by Daniel's dreamy blue eyes.

I have no problem with product placement - it helps finance the film and adds authenticity - but could the watch pimping in Casino Royale have been any clunkier?

I'm curious as to what that watch will be capable of..and why it needed to be a few ounces lighter

Something tells me, and it's not this news, that this Bond is going to be the best James Bond since Goldeneye, which is my personal favorite Jame Bond film.

I'd like them to start introducing a few gadgets into the mix without getting carried away. They need to find a nice middle-ground. As long as the gadgets are realistic and not over the top/cheesy, it could bring back a little bit of the classic feel.....but still keep the nice realism of the last two have had.

I have a feeling that they are going to nail this one perfectly. One can only hope!
