March is a seriously busy month for movies, with Scream 6, 65, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods all on the way in the next few weeks. However, the one the ActioNewz.com team is most excited for is John Wick: Chapter 4, a movie that will see Keanu Reeves return as the titular assassin in what promises to be the franchise's biggest instalment to date.

A select number of critics were among the first to see this latest chapter in the long-running action saga yesterday evening, and we can now share their reactions with you (also via ActioNewz.com).

As you can see, the response so far has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising Chapter 4 as the best John Wick movie to date. However, that mammoth runtime - it's just shy of 3 hours - is definitely an issue for some, and it does sound like it might be a tad overlong.

That's becoming an all-too-regular occurrence with big budget movies in recent years, though the success of titles like Avengers: Endgame, The Batman, and Avatar: The Way of Water proves it's not a problem for many moviegoers.

Reeves is going to be joined by returning cast members Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, and Laurence Fishburne, along with franchise newcomers Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, and Clancy Brown. Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Natalia Tena will also appear.

In the movie, John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating the High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is set to be released in theaters on March 24, 2023.

The previous two felt longer than they had to be too, but I didn't know this one is legitimately a long ass movie, yeesh.

Every single time you see first reactions they all say "blah blah stole the show. Yada yada is the real star here." Then you go see the movie and those background characters are forgetful. It's exhausting.

It was better when things were at least nominally grounded, the "lore" was just background flavor (even the postive people here are saying "just ignore the lore!" LOL like the guy in a random tent in the desert who knows everything happening everywhere in the world!). Now Wick is a terminator who can fall off buildings and just bounce back onto his feet. Ho hum.

*Of course, I will still see the move.

Unless it's an epic,I think movies that are longer than 2 hours and 30 minutes quickly start feeling way too long.

Doesn't surprise me that an action flick, as great as that action is, can't sustain a runtime like that.

It was a problem for The Batman. Everybody said it was long and boring and so it didn't break a billion. And it would have. It had to settle for a 'mere' $700million+.
