JOHN WICK Prequel THE CONTINENTAL Adds Peter Greene, Jeremy Bobb, & Ayomide Adegun As Young Charon

Starz's upcoming three-part event series The Continental, which will serve as a prequel to Keanu Reeves' John Wick films, has added Peter Greene, Jeremy Bobb, and newcomer Ayomide Adegun in lead roles.

Starz's upcoming three-part event series The Continental has added Peter Greene (Training Day, For Life), Jeremy Bobb (Russian Doll, The Knick), and newcomer Ayomide Adegun in lead roles.

Adegun is set to play a young Charon (Lance Reddick in the John Wick movies) while Green will portray a young Uncle Charlie (David Patrick Kelly in the films). Bobb will play an original character named Mayhew. No further details are currently available.

The trio join a cast led by Colin Woodell (The Flight AttendantThe Originals) as young Winston Scott, Hubert Point-Du Jour (The Good Lord BirdDr. Death) as Miles, Jessica Allain (The Laundromat; Archenemy) as Lou, Mishel Prada (Vida; Riverdale) as KD, Nhung Kate (The HousemaidBitcoin Heist) as Yen, Ben Robson (Animal KingdomThe Boy) as Frankie, and 2x Academy Award-winner Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon; Braveheart) as Cormac.

The series will serve as a prequel to Lionsgate's acclaimed John Wick action film franchise starring Keanu Reeves in the title role. Here's the official synopsis:

"The Continental will explore the origin behind the hotel-for-assassins, which increasingly has become the centerpiece of the John Wick universe. This will be accomplished through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, who is dragged into the Hell-scape of a 1975 New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the New York’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the iconic hotel, which serves as the meeting point for the world’s most dangerous criminals."

The project remains a relative mystery, but when we recently caught up with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, he teased big things for the show and major developments that will hopefully only enhance what fans already love about the acclaimed action franchise.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently scheduled to open exclusively in theaters on May 27, 2022; where it's slated to open opposite Tom Cruise's long-awaited Top Gun: Maverick, which means one of the two - presumably the former - will end up shifting dates as we inch into 2022.
