I think it is repulsively shameful that half or more of the twits that will gladly swallow this unoriginal twaddle cannot name what the Emancipation Proclamation was, who wrote it, what war it was attached to, and why it is significant.

The creators of this may be history buffs, but they may have served the world better by teaching idiots the real history of the world and not this garbage.

This is an absolute monument to 21st century explicit and willing ignorance and a travesty to a real historic hero. It is another liberal attempt to bastardize what is traditionally respected.

Abe doesn't need to kill vampires to be cool because some Hollywood exec thinks so.

Abe already was cool because he actually mattered and changed real history beyond producing a stinker of a film.

@MaximusRodd you do realize that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter the book is based off the Diaries about his real life that are in the Library of Congress right? The only fiction in the story is the addition of vampires to explain strange things that happened in Lincolns life that are not explained in these documents.

"I think it is repulsively shameful that half or more of the twits that will gladly swallow this unoriginal twaddle cannot name what the Emancipation Proclamation was, who wrote it, what war it was attached to, and why it is significant."

...really? Half?

Dude, Abe Lincoln has been one of, if not THE most, popular presidents in history. Well before this book or movie got off the ground, he's been prominent in pop references: Simpsons, Futurama, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, The Venture Brothers, Night at the Museum, just off the top of my head! Actually, let me stop here, because Abe Lincoln shows up in mother[frick]ing Star Trek over forty years ago TO KICK ALIEN ASS: your entire argument is invalid!

It's fantasy. If you don't want to watch it, cool. And how, exactly, is this unoriginal? I don't recall anything thing, other than the book, that's anywhere near its like. Other than maybe, by some stretch, Bubba Ho-Tep.

And has it occurred to you that the way society focuses on memes and random comedy today, attention to this movie may very well bring greater light on Lincoln? Granted, the sillier aspects of this will gain ground, but that's the way it is with everything. Lighten the hell up and enjoy life, Buzz Killington.

@CPBuff22 Are you mentally deficient? You are actually saying this movie is based on diaries located in the Library of Congress??

Please, thrill me with the knowledge of where you received your GED. Did you ever get one?

I mean, attack me for my opinion. That's fine. But if you think this tripe is fact, you are mentally damaged.

Love to all the hateful unintelligible (look it up) responses to me made by woefully ignorant people.

"And has it occurred to you that the way society focuses on memes and random comedy today,"

Has it occurred to you I hate idiotic hipster thinking that couldn't identify real irony in literature if their Coldplay membership card was at stake?

"Hey @@Maximusrodd....look at it this way. If your lucky enough, and continue to be as ignorant as your last comment, maybe one day everyone will hate you do much they will make full circle and love you. Kinda like we do with @@grif now."

Did you ever manage to succeed in first grade reading or writing?

Happy to make an intelligent point.

@MaximusRodd: For a person who's been using intelligence as a platform to talk down to others, you've yet to make an intelligent post. Huge difference between an intelligent post and a smart ass one.

First off, I could give a shit what you hate or not; I'm neither concerned with you nor hipsters. In the short time you've been yammering, you both seem equally annoying.

Second off, I made reference to what society currently enjoys, not you in particular. I also gave reason why the general populace may eat this up. I'll freely agree with you that the US could do with far less dumbing down these days, but this movie version of Lincoln and the examples I gave above are pure escapism. In the end, it's no big deal.

And, if you feel that it's so damaging to the world's collective mindset, why don't you do something constructive about it? Perhaps something that doesn't revolve around bitching on a comic book movie web page. You've been using your intellect as a soap box this long Max Planck, why didn't you come up with that? Or maybe you're just the other kind of 'smart' guy?
MaximusRodd
MaximusRodd - 6/16/2012, 9:27 PM
@Darkhaven:

That is always the attack used by unskilled people to defend a worthless position. "You act like you're so smart, blah blah."

I am unmoved. Or did you hope I was going to cry myself to sleep wondering whether my points are more solid and valid than yours?

All you managed to do is call me arrogant. Yeah, and?
Darkhaven
Darkhaven - 6/16/2012, 10:00 PM
@MaximusRodd: you didn't make a point. While you were shit talking, you forgot to do so. Indeed, the only thing you've done is attack certain sections of the posts above rather than engage them in their entirety. It's classic form for a weak mind possessing a superiority complex and limited means with which to defend their argument.

However, I am actually happy you're unmoved! I find you amusing, and I would hate it if you left so soon. By the by, I don't think I've called you arrogant, per se. Arrogant...the term just doesn't suit you. You're more of a cock, Rodd. I regret jokingly referring to you as Max Planck now; I should have instead just called a cock a cock, Rodd.

So Rodd, if your hands aren't terribly burdened playing with your namesake, kindly engage the posts above in full, without your patented penchant for intellectual stupidity, or jog on.
