To be honest I don't know one single person that is looking forward to this movie, which means it has a high chance of surprising people. Early reviews for the film have been mildly positive for the most part.

The Hollywood Reporter - "This rock-'em sock-'em, tongue-in-cheek action thriller wears its B-movie credentials loud and proud. ...We’re clearly in Expendables territory here, though unlike those rather drawn-out affairs, Hill keeps his movie lean and mean, cutting straight to the punchlines while administering violence in quick and crunching doses."

The Playlist - "There is absolutely nothing defensible about the movie's leering treatment of women, or the casual racism played frequently for laughs, or even the utter nihilism of its hero. But it's so patently unrepentant, and so oddly even-handed in having all of its characters seem mindbendingingly dumb, that it kind of gets a pass."

Variety - "Maybe it only seems like Walter Hill and Sylvester Stallone worked together before Bullet to the Head. After all, the director and the iconic action star sound like an ideal pairing, and nothing here will dissuade fans of their suitability as a team. Stallone may tinker with everything on his outside, but (who'd a thought?) it's the inside that counts, and by now, playing a tough hitman with a strong ironic edge comes as natural to him as gunplay does to a Hill pic. Warner Bros. release should generate a decent chunk of change following an early February opening."

Anyone that can stay in that shape and be that motivated and driven is impressive. Good for Stallone. He's the man.

I am loving this resurgance by Stallone and his fellow former action stars. I am stoked for this movie.

Only issue is with the cgi-300 style blood spatter instead of the old style and much better realistic blood spatter with the use of squibs.

I'm with you guys. I can see where all the Stallone hating comes from, but honestly the dude is old as shit and is still in [frick]ing amazing shape, still making awesome movies fans love...I said FANS, not haters...and hasn't gotten too up his own ass (ahemm...Bill Murray) to give up on movie making altogether!

Bravo, Mr. Stallone, Bravo. Bring on Ex-3!

Good god, Sly looks like a clay mannequin. For some reason I don't like him that much since The Expendables. It's like he hates CBMs and thinks his action flicks are so much better, but even when it's out of nostalgia, The Expendables 2 just had no story and, dare I say it, so much action it was boring.

Well despite that he's been in action flicks forever, you have to give him credit, as he had mentioned before in an interview, the movie industry is being taken over by comic book movies and the like, where action flicks are slowly becoming non-existent and/or straight to television movies.

He's trying to keep the action flicks alive, try to make them interesting, so got to give the man credit for trying....
