Rambo 5 is set to begin filming later tonight, and star Sylvester Stallone has shared a couple of photos to Instagram.

As you can see, John Rambo has gone through a few changes since the last time we saw him. The legendary war veteran has swapped his signature red headband and mullet combo for a cowboy hat and chaps.

No, Rambo hasn't joined the Village People! The plot of this fifth installment in the classic action movie series finds the aging warrior working as a rancher in Arizona, but he's forced to take up arms yet again when the granddaughter of a family friend goes missing in Mexico.

I think this would be better if he still had some long flowing Rambo locks under the cowboy hat. Ride Rambo off into the sunset, literally. Just make him recognizable.

P.S.

Sly would've been the perfect Logan.

@Menks123 - Thanks.. it's helpful when people point out typos in a respectful manner, just not when it's... in a different manner!

Omg. This is eerily similar to a joke synopsis I wrote up a few months ago on here about this movie.

Hmm interesting... Not sure how I feel about this film. Weird choice to make him a rancher in this one. I get he's in Arizona and it has to do with Mexico, the border, etc, but still.

@L0RDbuckethead - Well in the last one he finally went home, which happened to be on a ranch. I couldn't really see him doing any other kind of work to be honest because his character has always seemed like the antisocial type. And I'm pretty sure the ranch was inherited from his father.

@smgmayhem - That makes a bit more sense. Thank you for expanding on that.

...[frick]ing Stallone. He's making movies about [frick]ing Rocky. About [frick]ing Rambo.

And yet, when I send him a spec script for an Over the Top sequel where his trucker character (Lincoln Hawk) teaches the autisic kid from the Wizard how to arm wrestle in a Lawnmowerman virtual reality contest, all I get is a cease and desist letter.

I HAD THE KID ON THE HOOK, STALLONE! I [frick]ing had him! Hawk and the Wizard: An Over the Top Legend would have been gold! And you [frick]ing walk away?!

"Call me when you sign Fred Savage," Stallone's agent says.

"Savage wasn't the kid with autism," I says, "I got the kid with autism."

Long pause. "Mr. Stallone is a busy man."

[frick] you, Stallone! And the horse you rode in on!

Rambo has never had anything like a mullet, he had bog standard normal long hair. A mullet was a very specific style popular in the 70s/80s. It was short on the top, cut off the ears, but long at the back. Think Nick Cage in Con Air or Billy Ray Cirus.

SoupCanSam - 10/4/2018, 12:22 PM
@NicholiB - Nic Cage had no such hair in Con Air like a mullet. Don’t you dare try to tarnish that great actor’s image. C’mon son!

@SoupCanSam - Yeah true enough, what was I thinking. I just checked and his Con Air Hair (I'm a poet and I didn't know it) in no way resembles my short on top, long at the back and off the ears description of a mullet. Re "Son" let's just say I'm of a vintage that remembers the un holy horrors of 80s hairstyles....or 90s/00s if you are from the bottom half of The US. :-P https://gfycat.com/gifs/detail/groundedgooddogwoodclubgall
