Sylvester Stallone Not Starring In Rambo TV Series

If you ladies and gentlemen recall, I reported that Sylvestor Stallone was going to possibly star and provide behind-the-camera work for a Rambo TV series, this is apparently not the case. Read on for more info.

I reported a while back that Sly was in negotiations to star in a new Rambo TV series possibly.

To be fair, this is becoming a "He said, she said" story where the company said he might potentially star, and now Stallone's reps are saying that this isn't the case. Who can we believe? Well it's hard to say, it could just be that negotiations fell by the waist side.

Commenting on the previous report, Sly's reps said "While a television series based on the Rambo property is in development with Entertainment One and Nu Image, contrary to reports, Sylvester Stallone will certainly not reprise his role as the iconic John Rambo for the small screen. He himself will not portray the character in the series"

Avi Lerner of Nu Image said, "I'm excited by the prospect of collaborating again with my good friend Sly for an encore in this next phase of the Rambo legacy."

As a lifetime Rambo fan, I'll add my two cents and say that Stallone may have started the franchise, but it's time to bring in some new blood. It's not the worst idea in the world as Rambo has always been a pretty basic presence, and with the war in the Middle East right now, it could easily be a substitute for Rambo and Nam'. Can they call it Rambo though? Will they have Stallone in a recurring role? Only time will tell.

What are your thoughts? Have any more awesome Rambo GIFs? You know where all that goes!
