As we head into November, Marvel Studios is expected to pull out all the stops by hyping up Avengers: Doomsday as the most must-see event of December (a title Dune: Part Three and, to a much lesser extent, Jumanji: Open World are vying for).
Fans have been demanding character posters for months, and the first of them has seemingly been spotted at a new Avengers: Doomsday activation in Japan.
As you can see below, Robert Downey Jr.'s Victor Von Doom is shown standing tall with the Sentinels looming large in the background. There had been speculation that Marvel Studios might try to sell everyone on Doom being an ally to the Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes in the movie (before a villainous twist), but it's apparent now that he's being openly sold as the biggest of big bads.
On a related note, it's been revealed today that The Fantastic Four: First Steps will air for the first time on ABC on Sunday, December 13. That's the last Sunday before Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters, and we'd bet on Marvel Studios doing something to promote the release, even if it's just a TV spot.
For now, this poster is an exciting start, especially if it leads to character posters spotlighting the members of the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four...and perhaps even a few surprise characters.
