Taron Egerton Set To Join THE SECRET SERVICE? Matthew Vaughn Interested In Emma Watson
After a lengthy search which included Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Matthew Vaughn has reportedly settled on newcomer Taron Egerton for the lead role in The Secret Service. The director is also looking for a female co-star and it has been confirmed that Leonardo DiCaprio passed on playing the villain.
With Godzilla and other upcoming projects keeping him busy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was forced to pass up the opportunity to play 'Gary' in The Secret Service, but Jack O'Connell, John Boyega and Christian Cooke were all then said to be vying for the lead role. Well, Matthew Vaughn has now settled on young British actor Taron Egerton; he doesn't have an agent and his only IMDb credit is for a 2012 short film and two appearances in crime drama, Lewis. The site adds that the director is not looking for the female co-star and is said to be interested in both Emma Watson and Dark Shadows' Bella Heathcote. The hunt is on for a high profile actor to play the lead villain after both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise passed. Colin Firth and Michael Caine have already been cast.
