Depp playin' the same role since 10 years again and again. It's gettin' boring and lame.

@UltimaRex

Armie Hammer for Superman??? Ahahahahahahahahahaha, good one! The kid doesn't have the facial features or the charisma to play the big daddy of superheroes. That's why he wasn't and never will be cast as Superman in anything! He wasn't even on the shortlist for MOS (that report was BS). His people tried to get him to audition but they lied to them that they are looking for an older Superman (Armie cried about it in the press in late October of 2011 - this is fact, look it up). He simply looks too boyish and has soft, chubby facial features and, well....

he looks like a douche. That is NOT the face of Superman. No otherwordly charm quality going on there (like in Reeve and Cavill).

Armie Hammmer....hahaha oh boy....

I haven't seen anything from this movie to make me hate it yet. Really, the Lone Ranger was my grandparents show, not mine. I like Johnny and Armie. Hoping this is entertaining.

How is it that bird survives the wear and tear? Does he kill and stuff a new one each day?

They are making a BIG MISTAKE KEEPING "TONTO" as the name of the character. This is a global world, TONTO is stupid in Spanish. They should really think about it, they will come of as TONTOS themselves

@JayTopStix

Just about every name means something bad in some language somewhere. I don't think they should [frick] with the source material, for something like that.

Hey GordonShumway & Farkosaurus:

It's called acting morons. I don't care what he looks like in real life. I care if he can pull off Superman or not. Since he was on the MOS shortlist with Cavill (not BS) someone in WB thinks he can too.

That's the first time I've seen those pics so close together.

The resemblance is actually pretty eerie no?
ElShumway
ElShumway - 10/2/2012, 1:28 PM
@UltimaRex Is that photo supposed to prove something? Because if anything, you just proved even more why he is in no way a Superman. The upper photo is that of a boy, the lower photo is that of a man. Besides, why don't you find a photo of a fat asian dude and post it alongside a photo of Superman from the four seasons. Or any other weird looking Superman from the last 75 years. Or another ancient photo when they drew characters very basic. Fact is, like I said, we all know how Superman looks. Armie lacks the basic quality, looking like a MAN. And next, the rugged but handsome looks, chiseled face.

I also think he CAN'T act it. Why? Because he lacks the charisma and charm for the role. Like someone said, he's generic. You need a special kind of presence and charisma that you either have or don't, you can't act it. Reeve had it, Cavill seems to have it, Armie doesn't. He comes across as snobbish and douchy instead (even if he's a good chap).

And lastly, no, nobody at WB thinks that he can act Superman. That's why he was cast as Batman in JL: Mortal and Superman and that's why his agents were told that WB is looking for an older Superman. This is a fact, he said so himself. And shortly after that WB put out a release that they are looking for unknowns to audition, LOL. Armie was never on the shortlist you are taking an unconfirmed report as if it were fact, when a real fact (words from Armies mouth) escape you! Snyder would never ever consider a boyish looking fella to play a ´´manly`` Superman, as he put it.

But, continue living in the dream that you'll one day see Armie as Superman, because it will forever remain a dream. Nobody at WB would be crazy enough to cast him.

Also, consider for a moment how this guy would look in a skin thight superhero costume. How? Ridiculous. As Zack said of others (who were actually on the shortlist), no matter how good a actors they are, they were laughable in the suit. It takes a special kind of quality to really pull off and sell a Superman costume (any version of it).

This guy

does not have it.

Just like Routh didn't.

UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 1:49 PM
So Variety and the L.A times are "unconfirmed reports" now?

That's nice.

Isn't this a school day?
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 2:21 PM
So the classic Superman that the general public recognises isn't good enough for you hm? Need something a little more "today"?

Better?
ElShumway
ElShumway - 10/2/2012, 2:22 PM
Yes, it is a school day. I just schooled you on why Armie is in no way or shape Superman material. And in his own words he was out of the picture (or not even in it) for MOS even before any shortlist was made. Therefore, that info is incorrect.

Also, fun trivia, Snyder had that stamp image on his phone during the casting process (he tweeted it), he loves it. Obviously he has good eyes (thankfully) unlike you and he didn't even consider Armie.

Buuut, my biggest satisfaction (aside from giving you a schooling) will be the look on your face (even though I wont see it, I know how it will look, lol) when Armie never gets cast as Superman in anything.

I'll be here (or on other places you stalk with your Armie BS) to remind you of it. ;)

But, the best thing is, thankfully we don't have and won't have another boyish looking fella with the charisma of a post box playing the biggest superhero of them all!

ElShumway
ElShumway - 10/2/2012, 2:28 PM
Dude, that photo's look nothing alike. Why do you even bother? Beside, we already have a far superior actor playing Superman. Who can not only look as the majority of the best Superman versions from great artists, but also has the presence/charisma/charm that Armie can't even approach and actually looks like a SuperMAN not a BOY.

Armie who?
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 2:55 PM
Answer the question. Are Variety and the L.A times "unconfirmed reports"?

Yes or no?

Either way I get a good laugh.
ElShumway
ElShumway - 10/2/2012, 3:04 PM
Yes, both Variety and L.A.Times have posted things in the past that turned out false.

Answer the question. Why did Armie cry in the press on how he isn't in the running for Superman, when they will only starting to audition actors.

Im glad you got a good laugh, since you have zero to say to counter my arguments - or in other words facts about why Armie is no Superman.

I wonder how much you'll laugh when he isn't cast in JL. Hehehe....
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 3:08 PM
As for the "far superior actor" crack tell me this, has Cavill worked with David Fincher? Clint Eastwood? Even Gore Verbinski?

Again a yes or no will suffice.

Don't get me wrong though, Cavill is Superman material and I hope the guy knocks it out of the park next year. But I will wonder if Hammer could have done it better and hope he gets cast as Superman in JL.

UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 3:19 PM
Simple. After he said that (which could have been BS) he got the call, auditioned and you know the rest.

One, when Variety and L.A.Times get it wrong they correct it and they didn't correct this. Hammer was on the shortlist.

Two, the shortlist came from WB. Are you trying to tell me they don't know who did and did not test?
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/2/2012, 3:30 PM
Or he got the call, auditioned, got told he didn't get it and BS'd about it afterwards. I told you, I don't care what he's like as a person (within reason). I care about seeing Superman played by the beat actor for the job.

If a better actor comes along I'll switch sides so fast your head'll spin.

UltimaRex Said "So the classic Superman that the general public recognises isn't good enough for you hm? Need something a little more "today"?"

Hmmm that goofy Supermanboy in a tshirt and jeans playing superman or this new goofy Lone Ranger I will be more than happy to sticking to those thrilling days of yesteryear.

Also, isn't a sill concept to "update" a genre piece? I mean if you "update" some caveman story for instance all you get are those Geiko caveman commercials.

Ichaos - 10/3/2012, 1:57 AM
I saw all the "Arnie" comments and for a little bit I thought some idiot was suggesting Schwartzeneger as the roll of Superman. You can't just say Arnie like that with no last name. People automatically think the governator.

But this Arnie Hammer guy whoever he is would be a very lame deuche bag version of Superman. Sure thats a match for the new 52 Superman since they turned him into a D bag but nobody wants to watch New 52 DBag Superman/Boy
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 10/3/2012, 3:02 AM
Jesus.

For the final time.

IT'S. CALLED. ACTING.

If Armie Hammer gets cast as the classic Superman then that's what he'll play because right now he's still an actor first and a celeb second. What an actor is or isn't like in real life makes. No. Difference. Does Anthony Hopkins eat people in real life? Ffs.
