@SuperCat - 🤣
That's gonna be this flick at the box office!

I'm not sure who this movie is for. I assume it's geared towards my generation (40 something gen x-ers) who liked the very dated cringey military recruiting cheese of that era. Other than that small group, who ELSE would be really interested in this???

@Feralwookiee - LOL. I'm sure I'll see it eventually once it premieres on cable.

@Feralwookiee - ...LOL. And I'm a 40 something gen x-er too! :D

@SuperCat - Yeah. That's the only (very narrow) audience that I can see this appealing to. There might be a few younger kids who are into planes or something, but I don't see this having broad appeal.

Like I wrote early, I always thought the original was a totally dated product of it's time, from the music, to the editing, to the Regan era "let's get those commies" propaganda. I understand it"s popularity, but to me, it was always a big shiny nothingburger like most of Tom Cruise's movies.

Hmmm. Pete Mitchell is a Navy pilot. If I was creative director of the photos hoot for this poster...as much as I love the P-51 Mustang....I’d have Pete standing next to the big, bad F4U Corsair. That bird has a much deeper connection to the Navy.

Only interesting aspect of this movie to me was just now learning that Maverick's real name is "Pete Mitchell". Huh.

I wonder if he will die in this one. Tom has only played characters that died in Collateral, Valkyrie, Oblivion and American Made. He doesn’t die much on screen.

@AnthonyVonGeek - He dies a bunch in Edge of Tomorrow :)

The only thing I dislike about this movie is that Miles Teller is in it and has second billing. That dude is the king of punchable faces.

I can see Maverick giving his life for someone and destroying a jet or two, just like his father did.
