Hot on the heels of the blockbuster success of Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Tom Cruise is back and he looks better than ever as he zips around the set of Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic actioner that catapulted Cruise to the top of the A-list.
The megastar was spotted yesterday in San Diego, California riding around on a brand new Kawasaki Ninja H2 Carbon, a $30,000 limited edition motorcycle of which only 120 were ever produced. It’s considered one of the fastest road legal bikes on the planet with a 1000cc four-cylinder supercharged engine with 200bhp and a top speed of 209mph.
On another note, Deadline recently reported that Paramount has rounded out its gigantic ensemble with Kara Wang (Good Trouble), Jack Schumacher (Empire), Greg Tarzan Davis (Chicago P.D.), Jake Picking (Sicario: Day of the Soldado), Raymond Lee (Scandal), Jean Louisa Kelly (Ant-Man), and Lyliana Wray (Strange Angel).
The final seven join a cast, that in addition to Cruise, will also feature Val Kilmer (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), Jennifer Connelly (Only The Brave), Jon Hamm (Bad Times at the El Royale), Ed Harris (Westworld), Miles Teller (Whiplash), Glen Powell (Set It Up), Monica Barbaro (Splitting Up Together), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation), Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale), and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place).
Joe Kosinski (Oblivion; Only The Brave; Tron: Legacy) is directing with a script from Peter Craig (The Town), Justin Marks (The Jungle Book), and Eric Warren Singer (American Hustle). Jerry Bruckheimer is back on board as a producer alongside Cruise and David Ellison.
Plot details remain under wraps for now, but the film will reportedly be set in a world of drone technology and fifth generation fighters and will also explore the end of the era of dogfighting.
