Is there a comic book writer that is having a better last couple weeks than Mark Millar? I doubt it. With the recent news that Millar's Superior and The Secret Service is in development you have to imagine Mark has quite the smile on his face.

Mark Millar's War Heroes is a six issue mini-series published by Image Comics and illustrated by Tony Harris. Millar said, "War Heroes is everything I've been leading up to with Civil War, Ultimates, The Authority, Kick-Ass and Wanted" and "This is what my Ultimates 3 would have been if Bryan and I had stuck around."

Universal is in negotiations to pick up War Heroes, the project based on the Mark Millar-Tony Harris comic book. Joshua Oppenheimer and Thomas Dean Donnelly, who are writing Doctor Strange for Marvel, are in negotiations to write the script.

Michael De Luca, Chris Morgan and Trigger Street’s Dana Brunetti are attached to produce.

The project comes to Universal out of turnaround from Columbia, where it was originally set up in 2008 with De Luca producing. The Hollywood Reporter

Plot - Set in an alternate timeline during the coalition wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the detonation of a nuclear bomb in Washington D.C. prompts the United States administration to expand the coalition War on Terror to include Iran, as well as institute martial law in the United States. As American casualties increase, morale and public support declines with the economy, reducing America's standing in the world. Lacking the necessary recruits, the US Military boosts enlistment by distributing pills to its soldiers which confer upon them various superpowers, tipping the scale in the war.

The story focus on a group of disenchanted American con artists, who enlist in the military to steal the pills and sell them to foreign investors at $10 million before planning to desert. Initially, however, the con artists had no knowledge of the identity of their clients that they were to sell to until it was revealed to be the terrorist organization, Al-Qaeda. when one of the con artists brothers (a war hero) is taken prisoner in an attack by a super powered member of Al Qaeda, the con artists set about rescuing him from a public execution. - Wikipedia

Let's see...Mark Miller said that there would be about 4-5 film announcements coming soon, here's what we have so far:

Wanted 2
Superior
The Secret Service
and now War Heroes

I can see Nemesis or Kick-Ass 2 being possibilities.

What Millar and his buddies need to do is put all his characters in the same universe, and do a huge movie saga. Then work on solo's afterwards, because he seems to be having trouble figuring out which comic he wants to make into a move next.

I'm so sick of these 2nd & 3rd tier books titles getting movie deals.
Bring on the big guns:
Wonder Woman
Flash
The Darkness
Red Sonja
Dr.Strange
Black Panther
Hellboy #3, just to mention a few.
Re-boot 'Tomb Raider'!

And how the hell are they going to do this? I only wonder because War Heroes was never released past...OH YEAH, ISSUE 3!!!

What they hell?

This is a supposedly six-issue series that hasn't finished after all these years...

Anybody have answers for that?

So the studio has the lost issues. What a douchebag! Millar is a sellout and his small band of sheeple can keep supporting him if they want but as for me? No way!

@ELgUaSoN: if you think this moron could EVER come close to becoming the likes of Stan Lee then you're in worse shape than I thought the rest were in. Not only has Stan forgotten more about this genre than Millar will ever hope to know in his lifetime, he is also fan first. Thats what makes him the man and why Marvel is kicking everybodies ass on the big screen. Quit being millars tapeworm.

Sad proof that Hollywood is ideologically bankrupt.
