No, ETERNALS Isn't Getting An Extended Director's Cut When It's Released On Blu-ray

There's been a lot of speculation this week that Eternals might be getting a director's cut in time for its home entertainment release, but it's now been confirmed that won't be the case. Check it out...

You may have heard rumblings over the past few days that an extended cut of Eternals is coming to Blu-ray. The "news "broke after the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) shared a listing indicating they had classified an extended version of the movie that was a whole 17 minutes longer.

The movie was already pretty supersized at over two-and-a-half hours, but we know there will be deleted scenes on the Blu-ray, so it was certainly feasible that a longer version of Eternals exists.

Of course, with the Disney+ and Blu-ray release already announced, it was a little odd that this was the first we were hearing about a "Director's Cut." Well, the BBFC has now clarified that the listing on their site was actually referring to Eternals' audio commentary and special features rather than a longer version of the movie itself. We suspected that might be the case, but it's now confirmed.

Marvel Studios has yet to release a Director's Cut for any of their movies, so we're not surprised Eternals won't be the first. While they frequently share deleted scenes, a lot of those are often kept back (which was evident from the new ones included in the Infinity Saga box set), so who knows, it's possible one will be released eventually.
