Following a premiere date featurette and some promo stills, Netflix has announced that the first trailer for its upcoming adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy will be online tomorrow.

In the meantime, we have the first official poster for the series, featuring Josh Duhamel as Sheldon Sampson/The Utopian, Leslie Bibb as his wife Grace/Lady Liberty, Elena Kampouris as their daughter Chloe, and Andrew Horton as their son Brandon.

Check out the poster below, and keep an eye on CBM for tomorrow's trailer. on as their son Brandon.

"After almost a century of superheroes just maintaining the status quo the smart ones start wondering what happens if they break the rules the older heroes have held onto their entire lives," Millar explained in a recent interview with EW. "What happens if they step out of this repetitive cycle? This is our starting point and it just goes nuts from here."

"Imagine The Incredibles, but the kids were a nightmare. We're cutting back and forth between this naive optimism of a guy [Sheldon] who utterly believes he's going to save America by finding this island that doesn't exist and this man [in the present] who ultimately knows he's failed," Millar adds. "He's failed the country, he's failed the world, and he's failed his own family because the kids have ended up a mess."

Jupiter's Legacy is "an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty. After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards."

The Image Comics adaptation is set to premiere on Netflix on May 7.

May 7 already? Didn't knew it was gonna come out so soon already. Don't know anything about the source material either, so guess I'm gonna go blind into this pretty soon.

Damn Duhamel’s making a comeback through the superhero genre, first Gordon, now this. Always liked his character in the Transformers series too.

@kazuma - You mean, background clouds *shouldn't* be more in focus than characters in the foreground?

Is the comic worth a read? I'm on the fence some of the time with Mark Millar since he has great premises but not the best executions of them.

Am I the only who feel like people, like me, who haven’t read this comic, will automatically draw comparisons with The Boys ??
