VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE Star Michelle Williams Plans To Return As Anne Weying In VENOM 3
Many have wondered why Oscar-nominated actor Michelle Williams lends her talents to the Venom franchise as Anne Weying, and she's now explained that while also expressing a desire to return for Venom 3...
While Venom was a huge box office hit back in 2018, many fans assumed Oscar-nominated actor Michelle Williams would pass on the sequel after negative reviews and a mostly thankless role as Eddie Brock's ex-wife. Well, Anne Weying returned in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and despite still very much being a supporting character, Williams at least looked like she was having fun.
During a recent interview with Variety, Williams made it clear that she plans to continue starring in the franchise moving forward and hopes to reprise the role in Venom 3. "I have every intention of continuing with the series," she made clear. "I certainly hope they bring me back."
The money for a blockbuster role is no doubt quite a bit more than what the actor typically makes for the dramatic parts she takes on, and if playing Anne allows her to do that, it's a win/win. Williams has been given the opportunity to suit up as She-Venom on a couple of different occasions now, and the hope among many fans is that this will continue as we move into the recently announced third chapter.
During the same conversation, Williams was asked about her She-Venom scenes and explained how it challenges her as a performer. "Pretending that a monster is getting into your body and then taking over and leaving your body, that's hard. I want to keep growing, and Venom is an important step in my growth."
The role clearly means more to the actor than most realised, and Venom 3 is hopefully going to give Williams the chance to continue exploring Anne's role in this iteration of the Marvel Universe.
Are you hoping for more She-Venom in the threequel?
