As we all know, in the actual Dragon Ball universe, Bardock dies after Frieza unleashes his attack on him. However, in this “what-if” spin-off sequel to the Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku special, Bardock survives Frieza’s attack and the manga covers a part of his life from that point forward.

Well, it’s been announced that three chapter manga special is being tuned into an anime special! There isn’t an official TV or DVD release date for the special, but there will be a screening of it at the 2012 Jump Festa which takes place December 17th and 18th in Japan. The Episode of Bardock Anime Special is said to be part of a larger mysterious project Dragon Ball project with codenames such as Dragon Ball Force Project and Dragon Ball Saikyo Super Saiyan Secret Project.

Speaking of Dragon Ball, it’s worth noting the 1993 special, Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans will be making it’s official web premiere on V-Jump’s website. No date for the stream has been set yet. In case you’re wondering, Dragon Ball: Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans is the same anime special that also came alongside the 2010 PS3/360 video game Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2.
