Well this was certainly a surprise wasn't it? 3 days before we were supposed to get all of our new information someone out there in japan has taken a picture from an upcoming magazine that would feature some of this information. This new info reveals that not only will yugi and kaiba be in the film as was previously reported. But that the film will take place after the original series has ended, which means no Pharoh for you fans out there. It also states that the film will be released in 2016. Which is a bit later then was expected. Although it could be to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the franchise as a whole, not just the anime, as the original yugioh in japan came out in 1996.
It also appears to have a new animation style compared to the original series. And with what looks like screen shots on the side we are bound to get more info in the few days when that website counter finally goes away. What are your guys thoughts on this news? Would you have prefered if Atem/Yami was in this film? Are you happy it takes place after? List off in the comments below.
Yu-Gi-Oh!, known in Japan as Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (遊☆戯☆王デュエルモンスターズ Yūgiō Dyueru Monsutāzu?), is a television anime series produced by Nihon Ad Systems and Studio Gallop, based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series written by Kazuki Takahashi. It is the second anime adaptation of the manga following the 1998 TV anime series produced by Toei Animation, adapting the manga from the Duelist Kingdom arc onwards. Like the manga and original anime, this series revolves around a boy named Yugi Moto who faces various opponents in various games, mostly a game known as Duel Monsters.
