Kotaku (via hk01 and Apple Daily) has posted some fairly revealing images from the Hong Kong set of Ghost In The Shell. They give us a much better look at Scarlett Johansson as Major Motoko Kusanagi (shortened to simply "The Major" for obvious reasons), as well as Pilou Asbæk As Batou, sporting that distinctive white flattop the character is known for.

There's also some shots of the surrounding marketplace set, which provide a pretty good idea of the visual style the movie is going for.

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, “GHOST IN THE SHELL” follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.

Rupert Sanders is at the helm of the anime adaptation, which is also shooting in Wellington, New Zealand. Ghost In The Shell is set for release on March 31, 2017.
