A lot of Dexter-like things in that trailer. Using a hammer as a weapon, the guy tied down on the table before killing him, using a marker to know where to cut.

FrankGarret@ Beware of S.P.O.I.L.E.R !

Acoording to the trailer the movie is a perfect copycat frame by frame from the korean Old Boy so I guess what you see in the original movie will be in the movie.

What I don't understand is that they previously say Spike Lee's version would be an adaptation of the manga but it seems we have a remake of the original here.

Which is great because the original was awesome, but it's a bit lazy from the director....

@Fry

Well almost... the trailer basically eliminates all hints of potential incest. But yeah... apart from that it looks a bit to close for comfort with the original.

The so called "Original" movie as great as it is, was a Korean film, NOT a Japanese original from the original Japanese manga. The Korean's used their own character names, their own settings and changed the story details to suit their own version. There is no incest in the original Manga. The entire Hammer hallway fight scene is also one unique to the Korean movie so Spike Lee copying that simply means this American version is gonna be a bastardization of both Manga and Korean movie.

One day the Japanese will get off their asses and make a proper adaptation but in the meantime we'll make do with the great re-interpretations of the Korean version and hope Spike Lee delivers something worthy of the original Manga as well.
