Avengers: Doomsday - Steve Rogers & Thor Join Forces In New "Worthy Star" Promo Art

Though this is likely just for marketing purposes, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) are packaged together as "Worthy Star" in new Avengers: Doomsday promo art...

Will Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) be a team of two known as Worthy Star in Avengers: Doomsday? Probably not, but that does appear to be what this duo is being referred to as in official marketing.

Some new promo art featuring the former Captain America and the God of Thunder wielding their respective Asgardian weapons, Stormbreaker and Mjolnir, has been shared online.

Rumor has it that these two will share a lot of screen time in Doomsday, which wouldn't really be a major surprise considering they are the only original members of Earth's Mightiest Heroes (that we know of) in the film.

We also have new Panini stickers, merchandise, and a TV Guide cover that seems to have used fake images of pretty much every character aside from Doctor Doom!

We're still waiting for word on a new trailer, but there's some chatter on social media that Marvel Studios has "something" scheduled for the 23rd.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were hit with significant delays last year, with Doomsday now set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars positioned for December 17, 2027.

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

"Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday. Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and ultimately face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. This epic film will lay the foundation for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe."

Doomsday will star:

Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent

Along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and, of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

What happened to @JoshWilding CLAYFACE review on Rotten Tomatoes?

He wasn’t under embargo, and RT approved his 2.5/5 review. Now it’s gone.

Did Warner Bros. have anything to do with it?

What the [frick] is going on at Rotten Tomatoes?

@Pampero - He is a verified critic under RT. While Josh did have every single right to go see the movie, the fact that it was uploaded on RT "early" where it DOES follow critic embargo rules is the issue.

However I don't blame Josh but I mean...what the [frick] did he expect? He suddenly is a normal person watching it but this normal person who got a chance to view the Scream Unseen showing (that happens a lot at AMC so I believe that) and then reviewed it as a critic. So you're cheating the system as a critic to stir up some people?

THAT is why they removed it. Sure he can review it, but the moment you post it and say "Oh it was just a regular showing" but then turn around and have "VERIFIED CRITIC" next to your name on RT? Yeah, nah...delete. Wait till tomorrow.

@Irregular - I’m not a fan of Josh, but he didn’t violate the embargo. Embargoes apply to press screenings, not public screenings people pay to attend. RT approved his review and then pulled it. What a joke.

@Pampero - Yes and I get that, he wasn't invited to a press screening. However, he DID post the review on RT two days before the embargo, on a website that aggregates critic scores and was the first and ONLY one. That means others who also saw this film (which was also at AMC Scream Unseen last week BTW) who may have been a critic didn't post it...so why did he feel the need to is why people I feel kinda went off the rails about it.

Had he left it alone on CBM and not manually post the review on RT, sure! But to go out of your way to post it on RT, knowing damn well there is a press embargo, says it all. That's all it is.

Not really a big deal and has happened to other verified critics on the site when they post before embargo. Not just Josh.

I hope they really got to distinguish both of them, specially make Thor look like THE God of Thunder, we don't want two gods of thunder.
