Avengers: Doomsday: Detailed Look At Doctor Doom's Costume At Comic-Con Reveals Hidden Details

Doctor Doom's costume is now being displayed at San Diego Comic-Con, and it's given us our best look yet at the villain (and some hidden details that may shed some light on the movie's plot).

Since San Diego Comic-Con began on Thursday, Marvel Studios has revealed the costumes belonging to three Latverian Witches in Avengers: Doomsday. Clad in green, yellow, and purple, fans are speculating about what significance they might have in the movie.

Now, hours ahead of the studio's hour-long Hall H panel, Doctor Doom's costume is on display. There are lots of interesting little details here that we didn't catch sight of in the trailers, including a piece of fabric tied around his left arm.

Could that belong to the wife or child we've heard that he loses as a result of a Multiversal Incursion? It seems likely, especially as the MCU's Victor Von Doom is expected to have a new origin story (which makes him a more relatable figure, similar to Thanos).

The rondels on his chest appear to feature imagery tied to Thor and Captain Marvel, suggesting Doom has done something to his armour to ensure that he's prepared for two of Earth-616's strongest heroes. If so, that would explain him stopping a blow from Stormbreaker with two fingers.

There are also a lot of magic runes, which was perhaps to be expected when Victor is a villain who has mastered magic and science to become a truly formidable threat to those who challenge him. As for the mask, well, it's hard to find fault with it.

"In Avengers: Endgame, everyone was united against Thanos. In Avengers: Doomsday, the situation is even more precarious: three different universes, three different Earths, literally colliding with each other," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently teased. "The question then arises: will these heroes kill each other to protect their own worlds, or might they find a way to work together to save all three worlds? And how will Doctor Doom intervene?"

Check out this new look at Avengers: Doomsday's Doctor Doom below.

In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.

Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn join them, as do X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, with Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.

The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.

Looks pretty good. The chestplate is a curious addition, but I hope it actually serves some purpose.

Betting all those symbols are runes akin to Scarlet Witch’s magic. Empower and protect him

I quite like that suit!!.

It’s got a regalness to it but also utility with the gauntlets & chest brace…

Also the symbols on the hands and medallions are likely just runes that give some protection against other magic or the ability to use his own but we’ll see.

Oh and the cloth around his arm is definitely part of the dress from his wife or something that he wears in memory of her and as a reminder of his mission.

Anyway , I really liked what I’ve seen of RDJ’s Dr Doom so far thus can’t wait for more!!.

Im sure its been said before, but are Russos reusing ideas, Zemo already wanted revenge on the Avengers for the loss of his family...are we doing down that same route again

I mean its a well worn trope in the MCU already; Drax, Wenwu...

@dancingmonkey08 - to be fair , Drax was kinda comic book accurate.

Also is a well worn trope because it’s a relatable motivation for many.

I could see that being Doom’s motivation partly but he also believes he’s the only one that can save the universe.
