We can finally say that Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters next month, and with the film fast approaching, Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal celebrated Halloween with an unexpected role reversal last night.
Downey suited up as the MCU's Mister Fantastic, while Pascal transformed into the villainous Doctor Doom. They obviously weren't wearing their on-screen costumes, but it's a fun visual, especially as Downey even "borrowed" his co-star's mustache for the occasion.
Them swapping identities like this seems fitting given the Multiversal implications of Avengers: Doomsday, though we're obviously not expecting to see anything like this play out on screen. At most, Downey might pull double duty as Doom and Iron Man in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Downey and Pascal have seemingly become the best of friends after working on the next Avengers movie together, with the former previously praising The Mandalorian star's rise to superstardom. "Pascal's slow trajectory to becoming a household name who is on a wildly hot streak kind of reaffirms my faith in our industry."
Pascal returned the favour by saying of Downey, "He’s just so immediately generous and inviting that you feel like you can be afraid, you can be hungry, you can be ambivalent."

Downey and Pascal weren't the only ones enjoying Halloween last night. Our other favourites include Street Fighter star Callina Liang as Catwoman, IShowSpeed as Miles Morales/Spider-Man, Olandria as Vixen, the members of KATSEYE as Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman, and Catwoman, and Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch as Betty and Wilma from The Flintstones.
We also have Heidi Klum's insane transformation. Unsurprisingly, it's another show-stopper, as the model and actress becomes a severed hand.
In Avengers: Doomsday, beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
Avengers: Doomsday stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Winston Duke, Tom Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr. Wyatt Russell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Mabel Cadena, Florence Pugh, Danny Ramirez, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, India Rose Hemsworth, and Wesley Holloway all make their Avengers franchise debuts.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps leads Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, joined by X-Men franchise stars Kelsey Grammer, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and James Marsden, plus Deadpool & Wolverine star Channing Tatum.
The Russo Brothers direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely, with whom they previously collaborated on the Avengers and Captain America franchises. Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron has also been enlisted to refine the story, alongside Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on December 18.
