As December 18 draws closer, more Avengers: Doomsday promo art has been revealed. The spotlight is mainly on Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, but these pieces also tease some unique team-ups between the Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes.
Among them are Ant-Man and Invisible Woman, Shang-Chi and Cyclops, and Gambit and Yelena Belova. We also have a reunion for fans of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, as Captain America and Bucky Barnes are once again side by side.
There's also a very interesting tagline: "Long Live Latveria." Is that the country's motto, or a hint at Victor Von Doom's plans in the upcoming Multiverse Saga finale? We'll have to wait and see.
More promo art and merchandise for Avengers: Doomsday will be revealed in the coming months, and we can expect it to get increasingly spoilery as December approaches. However, it likely won't be until after the movie is released that the movie's secret characters are spotlighted.
"The MCU is this massive experiment in how vast, how much scope can an ensemble really have?" filmmaker Anthony Russo recently said. "If we have a taste and talent for ensemble storytelling, we’re certainly pushing ourselves further than we ever have before."
Asked if he and Joe have been tasked with saving the MCU after a hit-or-miss Multiverse Saga, he added, "It’s a great question. It’s part of the unique challenge. The thing that Joe and I have always appreciated about our collaboration with Marvel is: Our job isn’t to answer for the entirety of the MCU. We intersect it in a very specific way. It’s that intersection which is where we can make sense of things."
