UPDATE: The San Diego Comic-Con trailer for Avengers: Doomsday has now leaked online in slightly better quality, as you can see in the player below. There's also a clearer recording doing the rounds on Reddit, which can be found here.
Marvel Studios released the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer when tickets went on sale last Monday. That meant it was always doubtful that another would follow during Saturday evening's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
Fans in the building were treated to a new look at the movie, though, and now that the trailer has leaked online, we're left to wonder why this wasn't the one we got earlier this week.
While the quality isn't exactly 4K, it features new looks at several characters—including Cyclops, Steve Rogers, and Magneto—and opens with narration from Sue Storm, who reveals, "Victor was always the smartest guy in the room. He used to be different. He used to be kind; he used to be caring. Everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realise that he was broken."
This confirms that Doctor Doom is from Earth-828, the same world as the Fantastic Four. As the sneak peek continues, we hear from Doom, who tells the heroes, "All of you have lived stolen lives. Now you must give them back."
Thor, confronting the villain, declares, "I swear you will beg for hell long before I grant it," only to have his blow from Stormbreaker stopped with two fingers. Doom then replies, "Hell answers to me, for I am Doom, " as a fleet of fallen Sentinels rises from the ground ready to battle the Multiverse's Mightiest Heroes.
Chills.
There's a good chance that this will be Avengers: Doomsday's next trailer, similar to how the CinemaCon teaser was released on Monday. Either way, the sooner we see this in 4K, the better, especially as it shows an emotional confrontation between Doom and Mister Fantastic, two characters we now know have a history in the MCU. For comic book fans, that's hugely exciting.
The leaked Avengers: Doomsday trailer is being pulled from social media, but you can still view it by following this link, which was first shared on Reddit.
