While we all wait patiently (or not) for the first Avengers 4 trailer, it's important to remember that we're now probably just eighteen months away from finally seeing characters from the world of the X-Men and Fantastic Four arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It's been a long time coming and while it's too early to say how Marvel Studios will go about introducing these heroes and villains, bringing in mutants and Marvel's First Family is bound to shake things up.

Now, Avengers: Infinity War co-director Joe Russo has shared his thoughts on the matter and has some predictions for how Kevin Feige plans to handle their introductions.

"It could be a little time, with the integration of Fox and all the Fox characters," Russo explained. "I haven’t talked to [Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige] directly about it, so I don’t know what his plans are. But my guess would be they’re gonna integrate some of the other characters and take their time doing that."

It would certainly be interesting to see Marvel slowly introduce these characters rather than just rebooting the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises, but common sense says those movies will soon follow as there's no way the likes of Wolverine and Galactus are sitting on the shelf for long.

What do you guys think? As always, share your thoughts in the comments section down below.

I could do with waiting a few years before they are introduced, as much as I want to see Fantastic Four and X-Men done I really want to see characters that haven't had screen time yet.

@doomsday619 - if they tease characters into the storylines here and there and show them as the fans want them... i think everyone will be happy even if they don't get a full blown FF or Xmen standalone movie right away. As long as know they are home and in good hands.

@JonC - Johnny could be introduced in a spidey movie... Reed could be introduced in a Black Panther or Iron Man or Ant Man movie, etc... Wanda could go looking for her parents... the Watchers or Strange could show the existence of Xavier and what he has wrought to protect the Xmen.

@JonC - I agree I would be good with that, i love the Fantastic Four and Dr Doom is my top comic book villian and I can't wait to see them done in Marvel's hands.
But I'm really liking seeing people like Dr Strange, Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and even people like the Eternal's finally getting stories on the big screen and hope they continue to introduce more characters that have never been in a movie before.

And of course, these people are smarter than us. We think they will all just show up at the end of A4 or something. Of course they will sell us each collectible character one at a time, slowly giving us the whole set. How did we NOT see this coming?

@GratefulBat - I think there's so much going on in this next movie, there wouldn't be enough time to do all these characters justice whilst ending it well. I'd be happy just getting the impression they exist.

@GratefulBat - It's quite possible we'll see both before we see another bat movie

@GratefulBat - Calling it now: There will be a post A4 credits scene with either an appearance of, or reference to, mutants and/or the FF.

What better possible opportunity will Marvel Studios ever have to merge the two worlds, than to have a reality warping side effect of using the Infinity Guantlet to correct the events of IW and "unknowingly" shunt the Fox owned characters into existence in the MCU at the same time?

@WakandaTech - I could see F4 being introduced in Spider-Man 3; that would work a lot better in putting the publics eyes back on a property thats been run to the ground so many times.

@AbidNaga - that would actually be pretty cool. Just have Peter Parker as intern to those guys or something like that. I can see it work

@MalseMarcel - Or let’s get that Venom story rolling... as I recall, the FF played a part in removing the symbiote from Parker the first time.

@Capfan82 - Yeah no tantrum is going to make them release the trailer. They’re going to drop it when they feel like it.

@PantherKing - people are so crazy and petty nowdays. I hope they don't even release any trailers before the movie just because of these morons.

I personally wouldn't like it if they tried to retcon it and try to say mutants always existed. I would actually like there to be this resurgence of mutants coming up slowly until it becomes a problem to the general public. it'll be like how people felt about supers during CIVIL WAR but this time it affects people on a more personal level, so they get even more angry about humanity becoming mutated. IF mutants existed before, something should have caused the mutant gene to be suppressed for a long time. I don't know what force that could be but, i wouldn't want any mention of mutants from at least caps time in the 40's until at least when scarlet witch and quicksilver's powers were 'unlocked'. that's just met tho.

@Capfan82 -
What if the MCU version of Charles Xavier actually crippled himself from, over time, continually blocking the memory of a public mutant event back in the day from the local witnesses? ... but not from the likes of say, S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Capfan82
Capfan82 - 11/29/2018, 1:31 PM
@SKetCH - hmmm. that could work.
Capfan82
Capfan82 - 11/29/2018, 1:35 PM
@SKetCH - it could be an event that was Xaviers fault too. like Onslaught or something.
