AVENGERS: ENDGAME - Marvel Studios Releases An Edited Version Of New Poster To Include Danai Gurira's Name

Earlier today, Marvel Studios released a poster for Avengers: Endgame but fans were very upset to see that Danai Gurira hadn't been credited with the rest of the cast. Now, a new version has been released!

While the response to the new Avengers: Endgame trailer has been overwhelmingly positive, Marvel Studios found itself coming under fire from fans for not including Danai Gurira's name on the movie's poster. Every other cast member featured on the one sheet was credited, so why on Earth was the Black Panther breakout character not worthy of a mention?

Well, no matter what the answer may be, they've set things right this evening by releasing an edited version of the poster which includes Gurira's name and gives her the credit she deserves.

What role her character Okoye will play in this adventure remains to be seen, but it's hard to imagine her not wanting to avenge T'Challa's death, especially after she watched her king turn to dust in front of her very eyes. It'll also be interesting to see if she'll remain in Wakanda or return to America with Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Check out the updated poster - and a message from Marvel Studios - below:

@XelCorp - Interesting that everyone is looking left but Hemsworth and Danai... once can presume she is inconsolable due to the loss of the one she was supposed to protect, but what is Thor looking at... does he suspect Loki or Hela is still alive and behind some of this?

Trash panda? I think you mean the rabbit.

She's obviously not going to have as big a role as everybody else. She's the only one on there who doesn't suit up in Advanced Tech.

@Nebula - isn't there supposed to be more people walking up like thor, banner, cap marvel etc.... or you think those are the only 6 who travel ? maybe the trailer cut off after the first 6

@Nebula - I don't think Cap Marvel travels with them either. My guess is Samuel L Jackson wasn't lying and she'll be the one using her powers to pull them in and out of time.

@Nebula - for her to appear on the poster she may 3-4 scenes she is the representation of wakanda right now

@Nebula -

She's obviously not going to have as big a role as everybody else.

Yeah maybe, and? She's an actor in the film and featured on the poster where all the others have been named.

It was an oversight, clearly but to do something like that intentionally just because she doesn't have a big role in the movie would be kind of absurd.

If that was the criteria then the smart thing would be to not include her on the poster at all.

@Humperdink - Her name was on the original poster. At the bottom among the Benedict Wong and Gwyneth Paltrows.

@Legendaddy - Where was your outrage when Jared Leto's name was above the marquee for Suicide Squad yet Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje wasn't? And Croc was in the movie far longer than Leto was.

@Reeds2Much - I'm not complaining just pointing out that her role might be so small that they didn't feel the need to take new pictures of her.

@Legendaddy - I'm sorry, completely my mistake. Just so many people patting themselves on the back over an empty gesture over something ultimately meaningless.

I also noticed that Karen Fukuhara and Adam Beach's names aren't even on their movie's poster at all.

@Reeds2Much - no problem. And regarding Suicide Squad, they at least put their names in one version of the character posters.

In the theatrical ones they went only with the "big" names tho.

Bravo Marvel...Way to be responsive to your fans. That is why you are the gold standard and other brands are working the back of the pack!

@Forthas -
It's really just an empty gesture, though, since such things as first billing on a film (as well as the "and" and "with" tags are decided by agents and contracts.

@Forthas - no one would say a thing if michael douglas was there and he wasnt credited

Clearly an honest mistake on their part, glad to see they owned up to it and quickly fixed it. End of story.

@HeavyMetal4Life - it wasnt neccesarly a mistake, she could be not that important to the movie or have very little screen time. She's a secondary character, not a hero like the rest of them. Shes probably there just to make people realize wakanda is in this since BP is dust.
