Kevin Feige Reveals What Connects AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR's Surviving Heroes

Avengers: Infinity War left only a handful of heroes still standing after Thanos' fateful "snap" and now Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has weighed in on why certain heroes ended up surviving...

Avengers: Infinity War celebrated 10 years of storytelling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but that ending left pretty much everyone's jaws on the floor. After Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half of all known life in the universe, only a handful of heroes were left standing but why were they chosen? Well, Kevin Feige says it all boils down to something many of us actually suspected.

"I think for a film series that is going on 10 years and is gearing towards a conclusion with Avengers 4, which you don’t usually have in
these kind of movies, you can sort of do the math," Feige explained. "And realize it’s the original Avengers that are left." This is something many fans pointed out at the time and it does make sense for the original roster to be the ones who take down Thanos.

Leaked promo art for Avengers 4 has confirmed that the team will consist of Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk, Ant-Man, Thor, War Machine, and Captain Marvel and it won't be remotely surprising to see that iconic team shot from The Avengers recreated in the sequel! What do you guys think about these surviving Avengers? As always, share your thoughts in the usual place!

It's gonna be interesting to see the marketing approach for Avengers 4 since it stars characters who Thanos seemingly snapped into dust.

So many questions I need answered, now!

@Jazzy4 - i am hoping when Carol makes her appearance she recognizes Cap's superior knowledge of tactics and nods to him and takes his lead. I would like this kind of respect between the new guard and old guard before anyone retires.
tony has also been getting a lot of cr@p due to how much he deeply feels for the situations unfolding... he also need this kind of respect from EVERYONE before he retires.
thor, well he's just a badass now and can continue to be one for as long as Hemsworth wants to play him.

that being said i would prefer the original 3 to keep making movies... tony making cameos, thor doing team ups, cap taking the lead in tactical situations.

That didn't really help. Of course, we all did the math and could see it was mainly MCU OGs who survived
the snap.

We want to know why that happened in-universe and he we get Feige dick teasing with this reveal/not reveal.

If you want to sit out Comic-Con, so be it. But don't pull this lame game of talking when you don't really have
anything to say, just to have a social media presence leading up to the geek Super Bowl.

Thanks for nothing Feige.

@WarnerBrother - Wah wah wah. He was asked a question, he answered it in as vague a way as possible (seeing as its likely a plot point) and the site ran it. How is that a “lame game” you utter spoon?

@WarnerBrother - Right, and IF HE DID tell you everything, you'd say he was saying too much and dropping spoilers.

Make up your damn mind.

Off-topic, but man Luke Cage S2 is great. Bushmaster was a great villain, Luke Cage himself was so good, the show felt "big", and the "Heroes for hire" episode was the best one in my opinion. Also possibly the best fight scenes in the netflix shows, up there with DD in my opinion.

I thought because they all have a personal connection to a infinity stone. Oh well, this is a much easier answer

@MalseMarcel - Well, there should be an in-story explanation in addition to a filmmaker’s explanation which is what Feige gave. Maybe you’re on to something.

@RolandD - would that mean rocket and nebula have substantial connections to certain stones we haven't yet learned about?
