THE WOLVERINE & THE LAST SAMURAI Actor Hiroyuki Sanada Joins The Casts Of WESTWORLD Season 2 & AVENGERS 4

Multiple sources have confirmed that Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, The Last Samurai) has joined the cast of HBO's hit sci-fi drama Westworld in what's being described as a major supporting role. Details on the role in question are being kept under lock-and-key, but thanks to Funko (of all places), we do have his character's name: Musashi, which all but confirms a trip to Samurai World at some point during the coming season.

The character was first unveiled as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Funko! Pop vinyl figure and while at the time, many just assumed it was just a cool nod to the show's season finale, it looks like it was actually a clue for where the show intends on taking us next season. Check out the figure below:

On another note, it appears as though Sanada will also make an appearance in the yet-to-be titled Avengers 4, which is due out May 2019. Details on his potential part remain under wraps, but Deadline reports that he is slated to appear in a supporting role and is expected to film his scenes sometime in the next few weeks.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment - the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

I cannot wait for season 2. I wonder how many other worlds there are. The possibilities are endless! If they ever try to get a bit more ambitious, I'd love to a see a medieval type fantasy world, filled with magic, somehow, and fantasy creatures. Hell, I'd die if they do a 'Westeros World' with the original cast. For one episode at least. Just imagine that...

Are they actually doing Samurai World?!

Don't tease me, HBO. Don't tease me with this specific thing, because I can't take it.

@Spock0Clock - I think it's more to do with film genre rather than regional placement. And since samurai cinema is the Japanese equivalent to a Western, it makes sense.

That guy is cool. Loved him is Lost. Is he supposed to be Takezo himself?

Anyway. I think we are taking a long time to realize that Westworld is just not that great.
