Yesterday we brought you the news that Marvel was planning a big announcement for this morning. There was speculation that it might be something Thor: Ragnarok related, but the prevailing theory was that it was going to be a new video game partnership with Square Enix, and it turns out that was on the money.

Marvel just released the announcement trailer for The Avengers Project, which you can check out below.



We don't have any other details on the game at this time, but from the trailer it looks like the plot will deal with someone setting out to reassemble Earth's Mightiest Heroes after some massive event tears the team apart.

We'll update as soon as a release date etc is announced, but fir now let us know what you think of this news in the usual place.
