If even half of the reports turn out to be accurate, Avengers: Secret Wars is really shaping up to be a jam-packed event, and we can now add another (rumored) name to the list of character expected to appear.
According to insider @CanWeGetToast, Kevin Feige reached out to The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike about potentially reprising the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Secret Wars.
Garfield returned as his take on the iconic wall-crawler, for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and his performance was very well-received. Fans have been wondering if and when we'd see him swing back onto the screen as the Webbed Wonder, and, if things work out, we may see him in action alongside fellow Spideys Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire (who has also been rumored to appear) in Secret Wars.
The same source recently claimed that Hugh Jackman is in talks for a "big role" in the movie, so Wolverine's Deadpool 3 appearance may give us some indication of what Marvel Studios has planned for Logan and the rest of the X-Men.
Of course, a lot of things can change between now and 2027, and we still have Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to go. There's been some speculation that Kang actor Jonathan Majors' recent arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend may have thrown a spanner in the works, but the studio has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
How would you feel about Garfield returning as The Amazing Spider-Man in Avengers: Secret Wars? Would you rather he starred in a third TASM movie? Drop us a comment down below.
