@gaulwave73 my guess is he uses one of the other natural portals that connect the worlds. I think the story will go something like this: Heimdall or Odin become aware of Lokis presence on Earth and informs Thor. Thor now concerned for Midgard/ jane and eric's safety wants to get back to midgard but unaware of how to get there. Theres 2 things i think that could happen in the movie and here they are:
1.Odin or heimdall inform him of another way to earth apart from the bifrost, he makes his way to the natural bridge and goes to earth. Remember in Thor right at the beggining Odin is telling the story of the battle between the FG's and the Asgardians, huge amounts of soldiers from both sides came down at once, and when you think of it the bifrost didnt look like it was capable of sending that many asgardians soldiers through at once. Plus the jotuns had to have made their way to earth some how.

2. Like in the comics Thor is given the ability to use mjolnir to create portals through space. he may then use that ability to go to earth.
