Avengers: Villains and Heroes

Who I think should be the villains in Avengers 2 and 3 and who should join the team in those sequels.

Editorial Opinion

I'm gonna tell you right now that this won't be much of an editorial. But here it goes; the next villains in the Avengers trilogy and who should join the team.

Avengers 2: Thanos

This should be an obvious for the sequel. But as far as story basis goes for what Avengers 2 should be, isn't it clear? The Infinity Gauntlet storyline. Also, Dr. Strange is rumored to make an appearance in Thor: The Dark World. So, if the rumor is true then that would make the sequel THAT much better.

Avengers 3: Ultron

Ant-Man is going to be joining the list of Marvel movies soon, so if they do have him in the Cinematic Universe, this would make the most sense. Also, it's because of Ultron that we got Vision in the first place (Agent Coulson becoming Vision is a HORRIBLE idea, and you call yourselves fans?) Plus, (at least in my eyes) Ultron IS the ultimate villain for The Avengers.

Now for the heroes

Dr.Strange

Hopefully the rumor is true, because this would make the chances of him getting his own movie and joing the team much greater.

Black Panter

I don't know about you guys, but he is on the top of my "Must join The Avengers" list as far as the movies go. Maybe not in the second, but it'd be nice to see him join the team and the battle in the third.

Vision

We get Ultron, we get Vision. Plain and simple. You complain about them not sticking to the comics, yet you want Phil Coulson to become The Vision. It's a retarded idea. I think that Vision would be an awesome character to see on the team in the films.

Well, those are my big picks. I don't have any other demands as far as the team goes. What do you think? Comment below and stay respectful.

Use Thanos for the third and Ultron for the second. And why not add Antman, Wasp, Mrs. Marvel, and Mockingbird to the team in later sequels?

I don't understand these fan casts, personally.

The Avengers was the big climactic BOOM, an intersection of the individual storylines from Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: the First Avenger.

While it was very much an origin story of the group, it was relevant - impacting all of the heroes involved to the point where they are now stronger for their Avengers experience.

A sequel to the Avengers should and likely will be treated as such. Most sequels usually focus on trying to stay relevant - are the Avengers needed? What secrets are they keeping? Who do they answer to? How are they organized? What if one, or all of them go rogue?

I personally HATE Thanos, and I'm extremely disappointed with the decision to go there. I had to explain to my sister's boyfriend, who has never picked up a single comic in his life... who the purple guy is at the end.

"He's, uh.... he's Thanos."
-"What's his deal?"
"He worships Death. Kinda has an obsession with Death."
-"He's a nihilist?"
"Sort of, but he's in love with Death - like Death as a character."
-"...."
"Yeah, I know."

I think Vision is going to be DRASTICALLY altered, and will possibly be Jarvis taking a permanent residence within an Iron Man prototype. We may see him in Iron Man 3. THERE WILL NOT BE WONDER MAN - Joss has said that he thinks he is the most pointless Avenger and will not go there. I welcome the change, but I hope it isn't that predictable.

I really don't want to see a Defenders movie - it's just a sloppy second to the Avengers with less interesting characters.

Anyway, remember - keep it relevant.

Ultron does seem like the most important Avengers villain - at least, the most important one that comes from Earth. I imagine him as a program Hank Pym designs that evolves into an artificial intelligence, taking over SHIELD in its entirety, ordering projects such as the construction of multiple bodies (made out of an alloy synthesized from the Destroyer) and reconnaissance/spy missions to gather all the intelligence on the Avengers humanly and inhumanly possible.

All before making his presence known.

@AcidicHeart
I've never been a fan of them, although I do understand the appeal - I just can't see why a movie would be made. It would seem like a big commercial:
"Are you a superhero who is tired of SHIELD looking over your shoulder? Do you experience feelings of dread and alienation in your workplace or at home? Have you or your family ever seen a spook, spectre, or ghost? If the answer is 'yes' then don't wait another minute. Pick up the phone and call the Sorcerer Supreme: DOCTOR STRANGE."

I dont know why everyone keeps putting Thanos for Avengers 2...u know hes gonna be the big threat their gonna have to really pull together to battle for the 3rd film.

Its trying to figure whos gonna be the villian or villians for 2 that everyone should be trying to guess, since Whedon said hes gonna make it smaller and more personal to the characters.

They're going to change Visions history if they use him. So better to get over that quick. As much as I want to see Black Panther I don't think that's going to come around any time soon. I'm a huge fan of everything Marvel, but the fact is they're going to change things cause these stories can't be told the same way in the movies. There just isn't enough time to do so. Overall I totally agree with you're picks to join the MMU. But you gotta accept the changes.Thanos in AV 2, the Ultron in AV3. Pym will create Ultron in Ant Man movie. Shield will create Vison in AV2. Ultron will rewire Vision in AV3.

1. Thanos - I really think be Gould be saved for the third film. He is a bigger threats than Ultron (sorry, cosmic beings with god like weapon is just too awesome).

2. Vision - I always think that he will form the Masters of Evil in the sequel. You know, for new world order type deal.

3. Dr Strange - Only as an ally, not a member.

Black Panther - This guy definitely should appear alOng with Ant-Man, Wasp and Spider-Man (ok, the last one won't appear but I need a third bug theme hero).

Vision - Dude, the whole Phil Coulson as Vision makes a lot of since. Think about, Ultron creates his own robot who have the brain wave patterns as Coulson; meaning Vision will have all the knowledge Coulson has, which will be an advantage over the Avengers. But that will also means that he will also have the heart of Coulson, which will influence Vision's upcoming Heel Face Turn in the film. And besides, it is least retarded than sticking to the source by using Wonder Man's brain pattern as a source (do we really need to go through with killing off one member just to create Vision when we already have a dead member who is the perfect source).

Whoops. For the second thing it is Ultron. Damn typos and lazy reading eyes to check mistakes.

Smaller and more personal for the sequel means Ultron. Hank created him, he himself created all this destruction because of one stupid mistake he made, and now everyone's gonna pay. While Ultron is still a huge villain, which movie-worthy Avengers villain isn't?

To me it don't matter who they use first. As long as they use both villains at some point in the movies, I don't care if Ultron is in the second or Thanos is in the second. As long as we get one in 2 and the other in 3.

I think Marvel has done an excellent job of easing the general audiences in to their deeper movie universe. I think they put Thanos in the post credits of Avengers and are taking a gamble with Guardians of the Galaxy, just to see if their cosmic lead in is going to be successful. If they had the rights to Fantastic Four it would be much easier, but they are forced to deal with what they have. I think if Guardians does well, we may see Thanos in Avengers 2, if it flops they may go a different direction.

GOTG was a surprise to most of us, but it makes perfect sense to use them to break in to the cosmic side of Marvel. Thanos is all but confirmed for the villian. This will give them a chance to explain who he is a what he's all about, so they can just bring him in to AV2 as the baddie. As far as the more personal tone Joss said it'll have. I think that means Thanos is going to take them on one at a time while thier dealing with their own issues. If they use the Infinity gems they could use each one on every Avenger. The mind gem on Hulk, since he has a split personality. Time or reality on Cap since his reality is seriously messed up.Soul on Iron Man seeing he is half man/half machine.Space or power on Thor. Then the GOFG can show up or maybe Dr Strange or Warlock, to help the Avengers and they can fight together to defeat Thanos.

Since antman is coming out before Avengers 2, it should show him create Ultron, and Ultron turns evil im the after credits scene, which leads to him being the villain of Avengers 2.

You ask if its obvious that Avengers 2 will be the infinitygauntlet...well no, it isnt obvious. They have said Avengers 2 will be smaller and more personal in scope. What would be more personal than Ultron attacking the Avengers.

Infinity Gauntlet should really be ita own movie, outside of the Avengers franchise. It should feature all of the characters introduced in the 3 phases leading up to it, and it should be its own trilogy. Infinity Gauntlet is much too big to be contained in one Avengers film. ("and you call yourself a fan?")
