Is Captain Britain the next superhero set to be brought to the big screen? Marvel Studios movies always do well in the United Kingdom and Kevin Feige is seemingly a fan of the character, so it could happen and one new report claims it's in the works! According to Ain't It Cool News (a reliable enough source in the past that's fallen off the radar in recent years), Guy Ritchie is being eyed to take the help of a movie revolving around Captain Britain and his longtime ally - and fellow Brit - Black Knight.

Space has reportedly been booked by Marvel Studios a Pinewood Studios in November and December to hold auditions for a project being referred to as Captain Britain and The Black Knight. Guy Ritchie is said to be the director booked in for those dates and Marvel is apparently looking to fill the space left by Danny Boyle's scrapped James Bond 25, a movie which has now gone back to the drawing board.

It's best to take this with a pinch of salt for now, especially as the site claims to have not vetted the information they were sent. It would certainly be interesting to see a Captain Britain movie become a reality and pairing him up with someone like Black Knight would definitely work. Ritchie has been working with Disney on that live-action Aladdin remake and he would be a good fit for a project like this and we know Marvel Studios has secretly put together its Phase 4 slate. Stay tuned for updates.

Anything’s possible. But I dunno about Guy Ritchie. His King Arthur movie was quite so-so.

I don’t see Guy Ritchie being someone interested in working in a Marbel Studios environment. Like Edgar Wright he’s very stylized and has his own sense of everything for better or for worse, so I think this is probably bs. On the off chance it isn’t, well hey I’ll watch it. It’s MCU so I kinda have to and I largely enjoy his work so why not

@Ha1frican - Yes. I've enjoyed some of his films, but I'm not sure how they would be in the MCU. I'm intrigued, but suspect this could turn into a director replaced half way through production situation.

@Pantherpool - He's Geralt now in the Witcher series, and he begged for that.

I know Simon Pegg and others have expressed wanting to be involved with this movie, though.

@Pantherpool - Henry Cavill is actually my choice for Black Knight. Charlie Hunnam for Captain Britain.

Kevin Feige isn't going to get Guy Ritchie to direct a Captain Marvel movie lmao. That's just the obvious choice and Kevin Feige has shown he isn't one to be redundant or predictable.

"Guy Ritchie directed a gritty take on Arthurian legend so Marvel is going get him to direct Captain Britain which has roots in Arthurian legend!"

Obvious BS rumour is obvious. Might as well say he's considering Zack Snyder too since that film was inspired by Arthurian legend or something.
