I’m taking a break from my Marvel Universe series I suppose to just throw out Characters I think need some respect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First off just want to say I like what Sony and Fox have been doing so far with their universes. I thought the X-men franchise has done well besides X3 and Origins but the wolverine was very good. I didn’t like the Fantastic Four films however. I also like all the spider-man films except for Spider-man 3. Now on to some heroes and heroine that I hope to see hit the Marvel Big screen.
Characters needing Solo films but not Avengers films.
Now I’m saying Avengers because they are the largest team in the Marvel Universe. Most characters that are a part of a medium team are also part of the avengers (unless in most cases they are a mutant which means they are usually an X-man or part of the Brotherhood). Now some of these characters could be Avengers but most of them I think would be fine to stay solo then to take a more than likely back seat in a team film.
1. Spider-man
Yeah we all love spider-man. We all want him in the Marvel universe, but personally don’t really want him in a Avengers film. Sure he would be great cracking jokes at Stark or something but he would do (and has done) better with keeping on killing his giant rap sheet of villains. As of now the storyline that Sony appears to be doing (sinister 6) would be great to tie into the Marvel Universe. Another reboot of this character could fail even with a good story line however if rebooted in the Marvel Universe. If he joined the Avengers for a film or 2 I would be happy though.
2. Daredevil
Daredevil was already destroyed in his solo film sadly. However I think they could actually fit a solid film into the Marvel universe. Again I think it should be him and Electra unless they make 2 films. However I don’t think there is enough room for 2 Daredevil films in this universe. Again I would hope Electra would be made as well. I wouldn’t mind him in the Avengers but I don’t think he would really add much to the team.
3. Punisher
Punisher is a guy who really shouldn’t team up with anyone in my opinion. This movie could be farthest removed from the marvel universe in the fact that it can be like Rambo or Die Hard. Just a man who can shoot like crazy. I would like a R rated film that’s done right and also have Cameo’s or just Easter Eggs to the rest of the universe. This movie would be just a chance to show a much darker Marvel Film in this universe.
4. Moon knight
This one was very close to me because Moon knight is a great Avenger. He’s also a great solo guy. With the much larger list of Heroes needed with the Avengers I think he’s a guy that would get removed from their team. 1 Film I think would be enough, he’s also got a little weirder side of the Marvel Universe to him. Seeing a Moon Knight film is probably a little far off but if done right it could be one of their better films
5. Blade
We already know he can do well on his own as shown by the Trilogy for him. But Blade deserves another film. At least 1, The vampire killer would be another Odd Marvel movie to produce but if it is anything like the first one it would be great. If not this then a MI-13 film. This would be a great film to show not only Blade, but Captain Britain and Black Knight. To great heroes have slim chance of really making a marvel film. So why not team them up for a movie?
Characters needing solo films and avengers or X-men films.
1. Ms. Marvel
Carol should get a solo film. Why? Well for one she’s a great hero, a fan favorite. But also it is a chance for another ground breaking marvel film. Think about it, there hasn’t been a good solo Heroine film to date. DC doesn’t really want to risk a Wonder Women film. So why not pump out this one to be the first in the Women films?
2. Black Panther
Everyone can guess this one, out of every character I’m pretty sure his solo film is the most long overdue yet. Hopefully we will be getting him with Phase 3.
3. Dr. Strange
More than likely going to be in phase 3 with lots of near confirmations. Strange will be a great step into the Magical portion of the Marvel universe, and he’s also one of the best Avengers out there.
4. Deadpool
This guy needs a movie already, more so than a Wolverine in the Marvel Universe. Deadpool has been “in the works” at fox for a long time now but never really appears to be getting made. With DOFP and probably an X-force film, his movie will probably be pushed back again.
5. Luke Cage and Iron fist
Not really a Solo film I guess, but these 2 need a heroes for hire movie. Maybe even add another hero to their roster. These guys have one of the best duos in comics and are NEEDED in the avengers. Luke could maybe have his own solo film but I think it’s better suited to team them up from the get go.
6. Captain Marvel.
Probably my most hesitant idea for a solo film. Captain Marvel would be able to show more of the Kree world as well as open up a great Avengers team member. A hard film to make probably, and it would be more likely we see him side kicked/introduced in a different cosmic film.
7. The Silver Surfer
I don’t think the Silver Surfer can be done justice with a team up to take down Galactus. If we ever see Galactus again I would hope to see the silver surfer at least fight him before teaming up to destroy him. If we see the Fantastic four hit the Marvel Universe again I’d look for this style of movie as well.
8. Namor
Sub Mariner needs to join the Avengers but by the looks of it he is still owned by Universal. Then again so was the incredible hulk film. He’s one of the best hero out there the king of atlantes needs a film sooner or later.
9. Hercules
Again owned by Paramount the chances of seeing another race of gods is slim in the Marvel Universe. I would love his addition to the team with Thor. Ares would make a great villain in a Hercules film.
10. Ghost Rider
I’ve always loved Ghost Rider and the last 2 films didn’t do him justice. Seeing him in the Avengers would be great but he would also do well without them. If he does join the Avengers I would hope they only make 1 solo film and then let him kick butt with the team.
Characters needed in the Avengers without Solo films.
1. Nova
Richard Rider will more than likely be shown in the Guardians of the Galaxy. This is why I don’t think we need a solo film. The best part about a solo Rider film would be seeing all the cool Nova corps stuff, however with the Nova Corps already being introduced the need for him to be in a solo film diminishes. Sure he’s a great character but I think he is best suited go from Guardians to the Avengers.
2. Wonder Man
I love Wonder Man, but I think his origins could be covered relatively quickly in a Avengers film, or maybe we could see him side kick in a different solo film. Either way I would Love to see him in the Avengers but not solo.
3. Quesar.
Like Nova, he could simply be in a different Cosmic movie to just introduce him before joining the Avengers.
4. Vision
Hopefully we see the Vision soon enough Especially with Ultron in the second Avengers. Seeing him created by Ultron in the Next film would be a great way to introduce him quickly to the team.
5. Wasp
The chances of seeing her not in an Ant Man film are slim to none. But just though I’d mention her here as needed in the Ant Man film leading to her joining the Avengers.
Other Films
1. X-men
With the large amounts of films Fox has made for the X-men, seeing them get rebooted if they even do join the Marvel Universe is slim. So why not make 2 or 3 films just adding on to the Fox universe? Kill Apocalypse and Magneto or something. They would be great let me tell you. Also they need Cable in Fox has done a great job in my opinion (if they reboot it) and seeing the 2 universes tied together would make me very happy.
2. Fantastic Four
I don’t really like the Fantastic Four but Let’s be honest, they are a big part of the Universe. I don’t think much more than 1 film is needed but we need them to take on Dr. Doom before he takes on anyone else.
3. Inhumans
Would be great cosmic film to add to their list, also could really see them having characters like Warlock or Quesar chilling fighting with them. Also great opportunity to get a look at the Eternals.
4. Venom.
I don’t really know where I’d like to see Venom go but all I know is he needs his solo film. Maybe not in the Avengers, but making a good Venom film before taking on Spider-Man would be excellent.
Just my hopes and ideas for the expanded Marvel Cinematic Universe. I know not even close to all these can be made in the same universe, and I know different ones can be made. Next years Comic Con should be a great one with more than likely 2-3 films being announced that will show us even more of were this universe is heading.
