Marvel EiC Joe Quesada On The Future Of Marvel Studios!

The Marvel Editor-in-Chief doesnt reveal what movies they're working on but talks about the big plans they have for the future...

"We are thinking about those things right now," Joe Quesada told MTV News. "There's no question about it. It's not lost upon us that we say, 'Okay, we have one great franchise rolling right now in 'Iron Man,' we're going to have another one rolling in 'Thor,' and another in 'Captain America,' and I'm pretty sure those movies are going to be fantastic and have sequels of their own."

"I'm not a betting man, but based upon what I've seen and what I've read, I'm pretty hopeful. I'm going to assume that 'Avengers' will as well, but we also have to sit back and say, 'What is next? What is the next great hill for us to charge?'"

"We've had those discussions already, and there is a lightly, in-pencil drawn gameplan of where we want to go. It's way, way to early to discuss, but again we are methodical and we do think these things through. The climates can change and the wind can turn at any moment and we may just go in a different direction, but we have an idea."

Great find JoshW. After Avengers, they should concentrate on Doctor Strange, then a Silver Surfer movie. Then they could make a Defenders movie.

I think that Marvel already has the formula for success. Like the FBI in "Die Hard," they have 'got the Terrorist Playbook and they're running it step by step...' Introduce one hero in an origin movie (like Iron Man was) but connect him/her to something bigger and mysterious at first (Avengers initiative?). Then introduce others in their own movies (Thor, Cap, the Hulk), with various connections to not only each other but what will ultimately bring them together (the Avengers). You could do Doctor Strange, SubMariner, Luke Cage & Iron Fist solo films/franchises that lead to a Defenders movie with Valkyrie & Hellcat. You could do Nova, Warlock, & Silver Surfer films that lead to Infinity Gauntlet. You could let Black Widow, Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye movies lead to the Avengers sequel. The possibilities are endless, as long as you follow the plan and intro the characters before the team-ups....
