According to EW, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige has confirmed that Iron Man's Mark VII suit will be “ gadget laden”. Here's what Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr. had to say about Marvel's build-up to the film.

“I’m still trying to, without moving backwards, remember the character that [Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director] Jon Favreau and I created, and be true to that,” Downey tells EW.

“Avengers has always been this kind of hovering [thing]. Is it really possible? I just think that it was an incredibly ambitious notion, and looking back at Marvel and their fledgling years, they always had a vision of this … although not entirely accurately.”, Downey laughs. “In one teaser I say, ‘I’m putting a team together,’ and in the other one I’m like, ‘What do you mean I can’t join the team?’ But aside from that, it kind of really tracks through.”

The Avengers is an upcoming American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast, which includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson. In The Avengers, Nick Fury, director of the peacekeeping organization S.H.I.E.L.D., recruits Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, and Captain America to save the world from destruction.

Development of The Avengers began when Marvel Studios received a grant from Merrill Lynch in April 2005. After the success of the film Iron Man in May 2008, Marvel announced that The Avengers would be released in July 2011. With the signing of Scarlett Johansson in March 2009, the film was pushed back for a 2012 release. Whedon was brought on board in April 2010 and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Zak Penn. Production began in April 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Cleveland, Ohio in August 2011 and New York City in September 2011. The film was converted to 3D in post-production.

The Avengers is scheduled for release on May 4, 2012 in the United States in 2D and 3D.

I have to agree with what Downey is saying here. You know that once we are able to fully review The Avengers we will find at least one continuity problem with the Marvel films.

But whatever...this is going to be amazing!!

What sorcerer123 said. Mavrel closed any plotholes that would've ruined the story through the consultant short.

1980

"0SageMode0, well he's certainly not a midget. 5' 10" seems to the be the limit around here. Tom Hardy towers over Robert Downey Jr who is a mere 5' 8". You do the math mother[frick]er.

Tom Hardy towers over RDJ? Lets do some comparisons.....

Robert Downey Jr - 5' 8" / Tony Stark - 6' 1"
Tom Hardy - 5' 10" / Bane - 6' 8"

He towers over RDJ by a mere 2 inches?.........
You do the math, Mother[frick]er. LOL.

@1980: Last time I checked, two inches wasn't "towering over" someone. Dumb ass

You can never have too many gadgets.

@1980 What does RDJ's height have to do with anything? He's an incredibly talented actor. Nuff said.

@poop23 He's going to have more than one suit. In the Super Bowl TV spot, where he's in a forest, he's wearing a different Iron Man suit(triangular arc reactor). :)

I had doubts and hopes for this movie, but for some reason i'm begining to feel more and more excited for this movie. RDJ was the whole reason the iron man films were watchable. This time iron man looks like the bad ass i know he can be.

I really wish War Machine would be in this movie. Having those gatling guns and the rest of those huge guns firing on some alien scum would be incredible.

Hopefully War Machine will be in the Avengers 2 and 3

@113 Rite, all these mogs are talkin about Vision, it would make a hella lot more sense if War Machine was in it... where the hell is he?!? Mabye they'll incorporate some subplot involving the deactivation of all government sanctioned electronics and equipment by Loki, 'Shield' not being apart of the government will still be left intact this will probably be the reason War Machine wont be in the Avengers & Ironman is & to clear up this mess between @1980 & @0sagemode0- both of you guys are wrong both Tom Hardy & RDJ are the same freakin hieght 5'10.

@113 The thing i find most interesting about this film, is that the story has such a huge event in it, the near destruction/invasion of earth. That if Marvel makes any more films with new characters in the next few years, they can, if they so wish, refer back to it.

Where was Luke Cage in the battle for New York etc etc, this could be used as an excuse as why War Machine isn't in this particular film, because he was defending a different part of the world that the Avengers were not.

And Downey Jr is 5'8.5 And Hardy is 5'9.5

According to Google.
