Morena Baccarin Addresses The Wasp Rumors!

Morena Baccarin attended the NYCC last week promoting the television return of her hit show "V". Access Hollywood took the opportunity to ask her about recent rumors regarding her possibly portraying The Wasp in Joss Whedons upcoming Avengers film.

"I wish I had more information for you.”

"All I will say is I will never turn down an opportunity to work with him. He’s one of my favorite people in the world.”

This seems like an unusual response to me. I certainly wouldn't consider this a denial or a confirmation, more like an I'm not at liberty to discuss it at this time. I usually refrain from speculating in my articles but this sounds like there just may be something to these rumors.


Hawksblueyes: If they do include The Wasp in The Avengers, I can't think of anyone better to portray her.

Let's hope she does end up in the role of Wasp, whether it be in Avengers, or in one of the sequels.

At least a cameo of her and Hank at the end of Avengers, after the credits roll maybe?

I'd LOVE for her to play Janet. I think that Hank and Janey are going to be in the film. He said that he won't have ANT-MAN. That doesn't mean anything about Giant Mean or Goliath.

at first i thought this cant be possible(because as we all know joss debunked ant-man and the wasp showing up in the avengers)...however it is totally possible thand hank and jane could show up but as s.h.i.e.l.d scientist. i hope this is the case

Morena Baccarin as Wasp/Janet VanDyke is a very real possibility. Witch is great because shes perfect for it.

Morena Baccarin (as the Wasp) and Nathan Fillion (as Ant Man) would be great! Marvel has to cast them together. They have excellent chemistry (see the "Firefly" TV series or "Serenity" the Movie) when they are onscreen together. And she has all the assets needed to fill out the uniform the right way.

Please join platform (even though it probably won't happen in Avengers 1) to get Christina Hendricks in as the Scarlet Witch. I do agree that Morena and Nathan Fillion would be quite good as the Wasp & Ant/Giant Man couple, though it would be kinda disturbing to watch him beat her up... ick!
