Filming for Marvel's superhero extravaganza The Avengers will soon continue on-location in Cleveland next month; essentially for action scenes. And while the scenes will require several extras, a casting call was held yesterday, today and will conclude tomorrow. Local WKYC Channel 3 News team were on location and have revealed their oddly amusing video coverage below.

UPDATE: Thanks to Hermiod, it seems WKYC weren't the only news team attending. Check out Fox 8's coverage.

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

In the first news report, the self-indulgent crap head woman anchor is Robin Swaboda. I hope Hulk smashes her Mercedes and takes a huge green dump on her front lawn.

@DCMarvelFreshman It wasn't too stressful. I wasn't going in expecting anything to happen; I just didn't want to not try, you know? I arrived by myself, but spent the 4 hours getting to know the friendly people around me in line (including the guy that brought the chair in the Fox 8 clip). Fortunately the weather was nice in the morning, so it wasn't too hot of a wait.
